Any Recomendations for Bike Restoration in Los Angeles.

I'm looking to do a complete tear down and cleaning of the frame, without having to do a respray. Looking to condition the paint and touch up the scratches.

I know CycleArt does this type of work and had a bike redone by them years back. But was looking for a less costly option.

Thanks

Take a trip to downtown Long Beach and talk with Evan, the owner. Great shop, they have a passion for vintage bikes.

Sound cycles, possibly, Wes Ochi is the owner.

The twist you threw in was touch up of the paint.

I could imagine what Cyclart's final bill was.... Nightmare.

Over to the east side:
Open Road Bicycles in Pasadena. Owner/operator Steve Lubanski can be a little flaky, but he knows his stuff.
Montrose Bicycles in Montrose. They've been around since the '50's and were one of the original importers of Campagnolo and the first importer of Shimano in the U.S.

I am glad to see this post, as Wes (Oishi, BTW) is a close friend and I guess he is as qualified for this sort of thing as anyone - assuming he's interested in taking on the work. He's gotten so fed up with the L.A. fixie kids that he's pretty much gone back to the CD/LP import business that was his mainstay before branching into bike shoppery.

Short version is that if the O.P. is not a jackass Wes would probably be happy to help, and charge a fair price. His website is https://store.soundsourcecds.com/inde...09a8f8bde86855

Thanks on the spelling. I guess that girl in junior high with that last name clouded forever my spelling..
As I recall, Wes knows Brian Baylis pretty well, with proper entre Brian would be a good choice to do the paint touch ups if they were extensive..

I think I know the girl you are talking about. I'm sure Wes would forgive you. As for the rest, IMO you are spot on.
