Possible to mend a slice in a new tire,..or??
Not sure if this is the place to post this question but here it goes...
So, I got a bad 27" tire in the mail a week ago or so. Continental Tour Ride (for my old Miyata 610).
It has about a 3cm long slice at the tread on the side....
Anything out there that would mend it so it could be used without any worries?..or??...trash it?
(photo of slice to come)

Slice goes in approx. 1/8" at one point,...doesn't hit the cords though as I'm looking at it.

The company I bought it from is taking care of me and has supposedly already shipped a replacement,.. but I figured I'd ask,..it's simply the idea of having a usable spare around appealed to me. That's all.

If the tread isn't separating from the casing I think I would use it. Check often, when airing up, to make sure it is okay.

When I was younger and we didn't have money for new car or motorcycle tires, we branded these as "Maypops". A good Maypop was worth a tank of gas or a six pack easy. The gas station in town even sold them on their "Farm Use Only" rack. Must of been fewer Lawyers in those days?
