Unfortunately a job change and crappy weather did not allow me to log any bike miles in Jan. or Feb. I was able to run though. Do running miles count? Anyway, logged the following:
Jan - 38 (running)
Feb - 49 (running
March - 49 (running) 86 (cycle)
April - 91 (running) 270 (cycle)

So, May is done. I didn't have a great month. A close call with an F350 somehow screwed up my Achilles tendon, and brought my confidence level down a bit. Because of that, the first couple weeks of the month were pretty low numbers(as far as mileage goes). It picked up towards the end of the month, but I hoped to do better.
I had 5 flats this month, most of them on pretty new tires. you can say all you want about how great Veloflex and Vittoria ride, but they are about as durable as an eggshell on the roads out here. Fortunately, they are cheap across the pond.
My numbers: May - 546 miles & 26,500 feet of pedaling uphill
For the year - 2,284.5 miles & 112,244 feet
I rode a couple other bikes more this month
Thomas & I reeled off about 100 miles of it on the tandem this month.

I've finished May. So far I've logged
Jan 480
Feb 440
Mar 500
Apr 445
May 567
Thus far almost all have been on the trainer. The long cold winter and spring and now late/extended tree pollen seasonhave really limited my riding outside. No relief in sight. Sigh!

For May, I had 999.7. I had at least one double metric and one metric century. The most miles I rode in one day was about 138. With the holiday in there, the last two weeks I slacked off a bit, only logging 126 and 164 miles.
My total is 2397.0 for the year.
I'll add a bit more description in a little while

696.5 miles in May, pushing my total for the year a little over 2500 miles.
My May riding includes two centuries, one of them on fixed gear (and really hilly, too!) and a double century. Quite a bit of riding, by my standards, but I'm not entirely pleased; the double century was a 400k brevet on which I bailed at the 300k mark.
My commute is too short!

Way behind you megamilers, but someone has to bring up the rear.
Jan 143
Feb 98
Mar 117
Apr 176
May 317
Total 851
I am hoping for 2500 miles this year. With good weather on June weekends I should be able to do it. Most of my miles are Saturday and Sunday mornings before 8am, so the long days will help.

Looks like June total will come in at 550 miles, bringing my total for the year to 3044.
I can't believe that in June, with the promise of the best cycling weather of the year, I basically only managed to do one recreational ride. But my commute is a little longer and I've been doing a lot of utility shopping.

Being pretty new to this bike riding thing, my mileage isn't that great, but it's getting better each month. My initial goal was 500 miles for the year and/ or 50 miles a month. Didn't ride in January or February, and only went out once in March for 2 miles. I got closer in April at 39 miles. My job is very busy in April (and September), so I had 2 weeks where I didn't ride at all. I doubled my monthly goal in May at 108 miles, and again in June at 138 miles. Only went out once this month so far for a bit more than 9 miles (while my daughter was at swim practice; that works out very well...) That brings the year to date total to 296 miles, so I am over halfway to my goal.

Nice work, Timmy.
I had a pretty weak June, even though I got in two 100 mile rides. I haven't ridden much at all in the last three weeks. Most of it has been with my son on the tandem. Anyhow, here's my numbers:
461 miles on gps, and another 40 that didn't get electronically monitored: 501 miles
Total for the year: 2,785
A photo from the Big Four ice cave century I did a month ago

I've done 1078 so far this year. No riding at all until. 16 april. 160 miles this week.
Now off to Montana, hiking rather than biking for two weeks.

My July total was 411 miles, about 2/3 of which was commuting. In other words, recreational riding was neglected :frown:
Total for the year looks like 3572 miles.

Dropped off a bit there in July but we've had 115 degree heat indices. Apparently I'm more willing to ride when it's freezing than boiling. I'm really close to 5000 for the year, was hoping to get that knocked out this past weekend but should hit it sometime this week.

Now I know who I might ride with and those not to even suggest riding with! I am impressed with the number of miles some of you cover. Not only must you be retired but you can't be married too!
This may be my only entry because it is in good company with some on this page, anyway
Due to weather in the area (mostly fair weather rider) here are my commute numbers outside of any recreational miles which are very few.
Month Miles Avg of Avg
Jan 0 0
Feb 0 0
March 195 14.3 - started around the 15th
April 351 15.5
May 457 16.5
June 327 16.6 - week vacation
July 241 17.1
Total 1431
My commute is 11 miles, about 3 on street w/12 intersections, with the slowest average due to head winds was 12.9 mph in March. High was with a tail wind @ 19.3 mph. Lowest Max speed in March was 26.4 with the highest in July @32.5. Both were on the RockHopper. Route was the same during this time period. The first few months were on my RockHopper, with the last two mostly on the Pinarello. Mornings are faster than afternoons due to temperature and humidity. It use to be about controlling pain, then it became about breathing, and now more about heat. Humidity is typically above 65% on most of the commutes in the last 2 months. Some days had heat index above 100 with one at 108. I can loose 2-3 lbs per ride with hydration on the worst days.
I am encouraged as I have exceeded the miles for any prior year, in the last 10, and have been riding every year since 2008 with 2009 nearly 0 due to recovery time from an accident early in the year. In 2010 I moved to Virginia which eliminated nearly another year of riding. That leave about 5 years of riding with 30 year break in front of it. In 2008 I weighed about 225 and now I am down to 189 ish. Another 10 would be nice.
I would like to do a century some time this summer.
