2015 Monthly Mileage thread
I hesitate to call this a club after all the "club" threads. Post your mileage, and your goal, if you have one.
I'd like to hit 6000 miles this year. January miles count as much as August miles, and getting them in the early part of the year is tough, at least in NY because of the snow.
So far, I've ridden a more than 261.7. I say "more than" because I haven't always turned on Strava when I ride around the city, and I haven't looked at my odometers to calculate this.
Preliminary results by bicycle:
Shogun 1000: 194.1
Nigel Dean: 42.4
Fuji Saratoga: 37.1
These are preliminary because I haven't sorted the bicycle mileage, yet. Strava automatically defaults to the first bike on the list, and I also had not had all of my bikes in my profile when I started recording mileage this year.
Of course, this thread is useless without pics:
First @rhm's white Cera and my pink Shogun 1000 on the Atlantic side of Long Island on the 1st of the year. Thanks to @-holiday76 for facilitating on the bike late in 2014.

During a night ride, I snapped the Shogun on the north side of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir in Central Park. The building with the white spire with green and red lights below it is the Empire State Building in midtown.

Finally, a set of photos from a flashing NYPD safety sign that I passed near home while riding my Fuji. (You know you're in NYC when......)

My January total is a dismal 50 miles, a combination of weather, work and family obligation. I would like to do at least 2k this year. Not a lofty goal I know but hopefully it will be done mostly with my wife in tow and little one on a trail a bike. My wife has yet to start riding again since being a teen and don't want to push too hard

I'm in. 225 miles in January, all on the Diamondback fixed-gear. My goal is at least 5000 for the year.

Strava? Bike profiles? I thought this was C&V.
Since I don't always even have a working computer on my bikes, I can only guess. About 20 a couple weekends ago, 50odd Saturday, 45mi on our New Years Day ride, another weekend ride of 35-40 or so, and a couple of Tuesday night rides that are usually 20+, so I guess I'm at around 200mi. I think that's it. Pretty wimpy given I'm in the SE, but I'd much rather ride when it's 90*F than when it's 40.

Bikes: A green one, "Ragleigh," or something.
My iPhone tells me I did 202 miles this month, most of them on my Velo Cheapo bike. Not great for a summer month, but not bad for a January.

Looks good, fellas. rgver, I would say those are 50 good miles. Winter weather is not favorable to riding.

I regularly use RideWithGPS to record recreational rides and occasionally to record routes and errands that I do frequently, such as my daily commute. So, having once determined my daily commute is 11.5 miles, I enter that number for all my days of commuting in a spreadsheet where I track hours worked, expenses, miles, etc. So there's room for error, but it won't be too far off.
Anyway, my spreadsheet shows 325 miles for January, which includes the century OP and I rode on Jan 1, a few errands close to home, and regular commuting.
My goals for the year are:
-Drive only when it is really necessary; otherwise I'll be car free.
-at least one metric century every month;
-at least one imperial century every month;
-at least one 300k or 200 mile ride;
-a bit of bicycle camping or touring.
I'm already behind, having failed to ride a metric century in January. The weather was not cooperative.
I also have a goal of selling the bikes I don't ride.

206 miles so far. Had to take two whole weeks off in January, first due to a bruised sit bone that I was scared to make worse (recovered, switched saddles, took some time off the ol' rigid mtb) and then I caught a cold a week later. Hoping to raise that significantly in the coming months.

The great thing with the goals above, is that if you get those centuries out of the way early in the month, you'll often squeeze more in to stay ahead for a rainy day and before you know it you have a head of momentum up and can often exceed the original goals, rather than be always chasing the big faraway annual number.
Saying that, those who ride for the pure joy of it without a care as to how far or how long are probably the happiest - for the rest of use we prob need the help of these little motivations to drag us out on days when we'd otherwise take the Lazy option.
Whatever the goals, best of luck to everyone.

I like to post post-racing-years bests each year (7777 miles last year), but I am dealing with Achilles issues so all best may be off for this year. Got off to a 510 mile January, 142 fixed. (My winter fix gear numbers, usually well over half of those miles, will be skewed downwith the acquisition of my "new" bike, a superbe gravel grinder.)

Updating my totals, I've ridden:
Jan: 261.7 miles
Feb: 198.3 miles
Mar: 561.1 miles
Total: 1016.1 miles
There are a few that I haven't added in, so maybe 10 more or so.
February was a tough month in New York. March was much better.
By far, the bike that is getting the most miles is the Nigel Dean Tour Ace. It is my best riding bike with fenders.
Edit: The 1/10ths of miles are ridiculous, but I'm leaving them there.

299 February

1185 total
I've done the three centuries, not quite as planned (none in February, two in March) and two metric centuries (so, a deficit of one so far).
edit 4/30, corrected numbers.

Timmy & rhm, those are good miles especially if you consider in the ****ty weather that was handed to you.
January 462
February 313
March 548
Total 1313
One century, one @ 80, two @ 60, and a bunch of 50 mile rides. I'm doing a little better than a year ago.
A picture from my last ride. This bike gets the most miles when the roads are dry.

I was just looking at my totals for the first three months, and decided I'd like to average 400 miles per month--not a difficult task. I'm sitting at 1871 km as of right now(1170 miles)--a shade behind.
From now until mid October most of the riding will be at night, and so the 84 Letour Luxe, with dynamo lighting is the bike of choice. One of these days Ill take a picture of it.

Looks good, fellas. Roger M That's one of my favorite looking bikes on the forums. It's good you get it out often. I miss those Pacific Coast roads.

Here in the mountains of NH, (bike) riding conditions have not been favorable during the first quarter.
Snowmobile riding on the other hand, was fantastic!
January: 25 miles in one ride (it was about 15F IIRC)
February: 116 miles in 15 rides in sunny South Beach, Miami Beach
March: 81 miles in 3 rides, all in NH
In a week I head south for 30 days. My goal is to ride at least 20 days and 400 miles, including my version of the Florida Pan Handle L'Eroica--- on a folding Dahon.

623 April
1808 total
checking my mileage as of noon, April 30, I realized I just needed a few more miles to get my total four April to 1000 km, so I took a long way home from the station. I didn't do a metric century this month, but I did my obligatory imperial century plus a 300k brevet, so it's been a good month. .

rhm great work!
I hit 402 miles for April! So I reached my goal. Hopefully all these "flat" miles in Florida won't impact the climbing legs I need in New Hampshire.
I'll find out on Tuesday!

Another update:
April: 381.2 miles
Total: 1397.3
Roughly half of my April mileage came in the last week (yeah, like 190 miles in a week ... that's the most so far in one week for me in 2015) because of travel for work. My legs are tired right now, but I think I'll bag at least a century this weekend to keep the flow going. I also want to sleep in one day and have a fatty breakfast, too.

April started off pretty good for me, but I screwed up my Achilles tendon a couple weeks ago. I've only ridden once in the last two weeks. Nevertheless, I managed 428 miles in April. I got out for two 75 mile rides this month, but nothing in the triple digits.

I like this idea. I use Garmin to track my miles. I like the idea of increasing my average mileage. As it is, I ride only about 130 miles a month. Not sure what kind of goal to set for myself, but I guess I could double that fairly quickly with not too much effort. Then I can go up from there.

I'm riding (not racing) in the Dirty Kanza at the end of the month, plus I loathe the trainer so I gritted it out this winter, but Kansas winters are admittedly not as bad as other parts of the country. Just windy and cold, mostly. This year's total includes a couple 100-mile gravel races (one of which ruined my Brooks B-17 which I've only had for 2 months, but that's for another thread).
I don't have a goal but I am trying to bike more places in town. My town isn't bike unfriendly, but it's not friendly either. Ambivalent, with pockets of hostility. Plus it's a spread out, geographically, like most midwestern towns, so it takes a while (relatively) to get anywhere.
Last year I had 5459 miles, which is double my annual mileage of any year previously. Something happened last year that took my enjoyment of riding to another level and while there is no one single factor, a huge part of it was buying my C&V road bike and realizing that a bike could be comfortable AND fast. So thanks to everyone for all the maintenance knowledge that I've tapped into in fixing up my old awesome bike.
