I'm riding (not racing) in the Dirty Kanza at the end of the month, plus I loathe the trainer so I gritted it out this winter, but Kansas winters are admittedly not as bad as other parts of the country. Just windy and cold, mostly. This year's total includes a couple 100-mile gravel races (one of which ruined my Brooks B-17 which I've only had for 2 months, but that's for another thread).

I don't have a goal but I am trying to bike more places in town. My town isn't bike unfriendly, but it's not friendly either. Ambivalent, with pockets of hostility. Plus it's a spread out, geographically, like most midwestern towns, so it takes a while (relatively) to get anywhere.

Last year I had 5459 miles, which is double my annual mileage of any year previously. Something happened last year that took my enjoyment of riding to another level and while there is no one single factor, a huge part of it was buying my C&V road bike and realizing that a bike could be comfortable AND fast. So thanks to everyone for all the maintenance knowledge that I've tapped into in fixing up my old awesome bike.
