Ha! I can see it now. Picnic table, Ralphie changes his "Blank" American skit to include being called a "smoking or non-smoking/obese/lazy/scammer American" while looking at FB posts. Then just breaks down and calls everyone "hater Americans".

He said he's riding back from the doctor... since he's riding his bike across america (allegedly) it would lead one to believe he means he rode his bike to the doctor and back today. Unless he's camped out in his doctor's parking lot, I reckon that would involve at least a few miles of cycling. SOMEBODY has to have seen this guy out on the road!

Just asked what time he's leaving in the morning. "Early, hopefully. Just trying to get everything set up right now."

If he's riding back from the doctor, why did someone post a selfie on his page of the two of him together, and state he just met FGAA in his cab?

What @Haff suggests in post #681 . If you do, I have a dollar that his response will be "My doctor told me to knock off the biking for a few days."

It depends on the context... It could mean riding a bike, or riding in a cab... It would seem like a more complete answer would be appropriate.

Or maybe that's the point. Give a vague "riding" answer so that people assume he means riding on the bike.

12 minutes ago he replied to me and said they hopefully are leaving early tomorrow.

9 minutes ago I asked if they had done the test run yet.

Fat guy Across America We just started the test run. Breathing for a second lol

So at best, 8 minutes of riding before breathing for a second and back on the phone.

I really, REALLY want to believe this guy. Every minute it's getting harder.

Well one thing is for sure, when you are that out of shape it only takes a minute or 2 to be winded. I've watched my share of "My 600lb life" and those folks that get to that stage didn't get there easily. And as they struggle to walk to the mailbox (if they can walk at all) you can see the effort it takes.

With that being said, I don't believe that he is trying that hard. The only cycling I see is the cycle of deception he has created.

As much as i want to pile on the guy for making no progress... it took me a very long time to actually ride after I decided to do it, and then i did no more than 2 miles a week for a while. And I was a lot lighter then he is... so on the assumption that he is for real (a stretch I know) then just riding 2 miles is huge.

This is my first post here. Like some of the others I found this site through the FGAA. I recognise some of you from that page also. I'd like to say that this is my first post, and I'm glad I found this forum. I had my own issues with weight, and I worked very hard to lose my weight, and feel better. I have to admit, I've been on a bicycle only a hand full of times in the last five years, but ironically I live in the Netherlands, where everyone owns a bike! I'm actually looking for a bike now. My reason to cycle is conditioning. I know I need it. I'm very sorry this post is long, but sometimes we women go on.

I've been following the FGAA, and I've done a lot of reading over the last week. In my opinion, he's a scam. I wish I felt differently, but I have seen wedding photos of he and the wife. He was just as big when he married her, as he is now. Apparently she had a change of heart.. She also has another man who claims she is his gf, and she was with him the night before she missed her flight. Or Eric now says the flight was delayed. I'm not sure which to believe. You cannot raise doubts on his page, or you get ridiculed and blocked. I've questioned how people can believe the lies. He's not been camping, he's been staying in a hotel for over a week. He went to the doctor today.. Well he went somewhere, in a cab. What a nice holiday on the funds of others. His wife seemed to come running back when he got "fame", and money. She's exceptionally large herself. He used to "tattoo" for a living. You can see his photos on his personal fb page without friending him, and oh I feel for the people he did that to. It's horrible. Je seems to be nothing more than a get rich quick artist. Sadly, I'm not sure how to stop him from taking people's money on a lie. Smh

Yeah, I edited out my similar comment to try to be a little more positive. While it could take 2 years to cross the country, and his history shows inability to follow through, I find myself hoping this will be the time that it is different.

It would be hard for him to do now, but I think the most legitimate path at this point is to admit that he isn't ready to complete the ride now, but to commit to being ready in the Spring with:

1) Significant weight loss.
2) A more complete plan (including packing list).
3) Saving the money he needs to complete the ride on his own (or at least a significant portion).
4) An improved method to communicate with his followers.

Little Darwin it will never happen. Although, I am one to put down and rag on people so I may be wrong; however, my being wrong has a low probability.

Part of me wants to disagree, and the other part of me says, "No **** Sherlock"

Maybe mine is an internal issue, since I have been committed to myself and friends to lose weight for several years, and I know I can do it because I am over 100 pounds below my peak, and more than 100 pounds more than I should weigh, but it has never happened. Admittedly, I haven't made a public plea for money, so it isn't quite the same, but a part of me feels that almost anyone who needs to lose weight, or quit drinking, or quit smoking will eventually do it if they live long enough... It just needs that internal switch to make it happen.

I hate to admit how many times I have seriously told myself (and believed) that tomorrow will be different, or even, today is the start of my new life... So, I know the chance is minimal that he will succeed. But, maybe for my own sake, I need to see a possibility that he will succeed... no matter how remote that possibility.

Those are some interesting recipes - 1 stick of butter per recipe, and salt on top of bouillon cubes.

The Q'ed Pot Roast recipe has you nuking a 3 lb. roast for up to 75 minutes. And, of course, it calls for 1 stick of butter.
