I can feel for this guy wanting to make a change. I can understand how difficult it is to be so large, I used to be 537 lbs. But there are a couple things that concern me about this guy.
1. He's eating really badly as he's riding. If you can't change your eating habits, riding a bike is not going to help. This must be a lifestyle change and he's not really changing.
2. He needs to get himself better organized and track or log properly what he's doing. Not necessarily showing the world, but his own personal diary of sorts for him to track and then to share to the world later if he wishes. Right now he's getting too much attention for doing very little. If he doesn't work more on himself and ignore this (in my opinion) bad attention of inspiring others, he's going to fall hard if he fails. And he will fail because it's in our human nature to do so. We have to learn from our failures and redo. I'm not seeing him being able to start over again with a new plan when he fails. When he fails and does not try again, he's going to be in the same predicament as he started out, only potentially worse off.

Let's be honest everyone, this guy is so well-known now that he could easily get professional help with his diet, his exercise plan, heck probably even a new bike from a big brand just so they could get some free publicity and look like the good guys. I don't think this guy really wants to put the work in. He just wants the $$$.

I get the feeling this has morphed into a rest week, not sure what he's resting from though. He seems to think he's riding every day but I don't see him moving westerly at all so who really knows what's going on. He's very vague with his plans and activities.
I do get the distinct feeling that his back story is a completely falsehood and that his wife "leaving" him was crafted to make this whole proclaimers angle work, because she's back and cooing about him in record fast time. He's a piss-poor planner but seems to have set up a website, facebook account, instagram account and spends and awful lot of time pimping his go fund me page as well. He says he's a writer but his written communication is quite poor.
What exactly is exhausting him (other than being so obese, obviously)? He sporadically updates facebook with brief posts, responds to a few people, very briefly and there's not much activity on twitter or instagram either, so I don't buy this mental exhaustion angle either.
I don't get it. Oh hey, somebody just donated $1,000 to him.

This is all because everyone is a hero and everyone is so easily inspired by nothing. A result of the Kardashian world we live in, where you can be famous for nothing. If you know how to manipulate the masses, they will hand you money faster than Usain Bolt in the 100. I am sure someone has already nominated him for the ESPN Arthur Ashe award for courage as well.

You know, my work day often goes 10,000 steps on my fitbit. and it also quite often goes 100 flights of stairs :-). It has gone 20,000 steps and TWO HUNDRED flights of stairs, with another 10,000 steps after work at least one day for 30,000 total.
So can I start a go fund me for a day I really do not feel like going to work ?? $9,000 could change my mind about going in ??
Note: I rarely miss work, but sometimes I would really not go in, but do anyway :-).

Saw some guy on the news this morning. Some former sumo wrestler who is swimming for 24 hours to raise awareness of something. The difference, the news showed him leaving the beach, and if he doesn't swim, it's pretty obvious. There ain't no Kobe burgers where he is.

If he don't pick it up and see whoever in Philly, skip Pittsburgh and Columbus, and head south before winter, he is doomed.

Again....you got me.
Ha ha ha
seriously I had hoped he was serious but someone who was only interested in getting fit and getting his wife back would not be creating such a media following without actually doing at least some of the riding...
get to another city or state or get 500 miles down the road....at least before getting the social media and real media involved.

As Sean Connery said in the movie "The Rock". "Losers are all the time whining about doing their best, just DO THE DAMN THING". Kids with paper routes in my youth (I was one) rode more miles in a week than he has in 4 MONTHS :-). And 80-100 newspapers is a load :-), Sunday took two trips :-)

precicely what it will be..they can inspire each other doing nothing. I saw haw there will be no "negativity" allowed. So nothing but kissing each other's backsides and telling each other they are doing great. No tough love, constructive advice.

A portion of a post from earlier today on FB:
"Still riding daily, right now build strength."
Ummmmm....I thought he two two rest days on doctor's orders. That was a few days before July 29th.
He's blocking everyone he dubs a "hater." I am sure he is worried about "haters' posts making people thinking twice before they give money.
And I wonder how he solved the problem of getting over the Rte. 138 bridge. As I think someone noted, he gives very few details about each day's ride. And where is all this video were are supposed to be presented with.

I swear ... The people who are inspired by him are so silly! It's driving me up the wall. Meh off the internet with me. I'm going to go ride half his two month total this afternoon. Anybody want to give me $$?
