I can't make out anything from the picture you attached; even the full-sized version is very small. What are the specs?

Looks like Prowheelbuilder.com? I just got a rear wheel from them, and I was brutally honest about weight and abuse the wheel would see. I trust their judgement, hopefully I have bought my last rear wheel ever.

At your weight, I would go for 36h to be safe. However, I don't think that they have those rims in that drilling. I would speak to the guy at ProWheelBuilder for advice, personally.

at your weight, it would be like me (I'm 230) plus a full load for touring. I would look at fully loaded touring wheels, 36 or 40 spokes, Phil Wood hubs. Adding a few ounces doesn't matter to me, I want bulletproof.
That said I do have some road wheels that have 18 (front) and 27 (rear) but these aren't doing heavy loads just my 230 lbs.

They don't have the brand printed on them. But the guy has a set of Schwalbe Marathons only slightly to big for my bike but they look identical except for size.

I have the Vuelta corsa HD's. I haven't put a lot of miles on them yet since I just got them, but so far I am very impressed. They are hand built, and arrived true and with the hubs and adjusted perfectly, spoke tension felt even as well.

However, I would say that the biggest negative with these wheels is that they are super heavy.

I bought a set of Vuelta Zerolite for my wife's bike. It takes talent to make a set of 32 spoke aluminum wheels weigh as much as a set of 20 year old 36 spoke steel wheels, but Vuelta managed to do it. Now, with that said, I ride a lot with somebody who has a set of Vuelta Corsa Pros with a buttload of miles on them and they are perfectly happy.

As I said I am new to the biking game. So weight does not concern me a whole bunch just yet. I will ride this bike for a year or so and see if it fits my needs. It will be bullet proof and that is what I was looking for when I had him build it. My weight should be down some in a year also so there is that. I am 270 right now. but loosing slowly.

I said I am new. I suspect everybody had to start somewhere. And I also suspect that everyone makes mistakes. But saying I am buying crap is pretty much a useless and non helpful thing to say. I have very little use for someone that types mean things just to be mean.
Thank you
Thank you

My comment would be that product that look alike may not behave the same. That being said, if the price differential compensates for the durability, and the product is not intrinsically flawed/dangerous, more power to you.

dr_lha OK I miss understood and apologize. I figured that a 40 spoke wheel would hold up very well and I am getting it for a decent price. So we shall see.
As for the pugsley. I am looking for more of a road bike ish hybrid. I will not be doing any trail riding with it and will maybe do an occasional gravel road. I find the gravel roads here in Kentucky to be in pretty good shape and many times they end up being better than the paved one. Lol. by the way that is some beautiful land you are biking through.
