First and foremost, are you using new spokes?

That's 3 cross, btw.

So you're just taking them apart and relacing them for the experience? cool.

What I was getting at, is that you can't change your lacing pattern.

I will look for a 3 cross video and redo it. At least I know how to do a 4 cross now.

The lacing is exactly the same on a fixed gear wheel whether its the front or the back

what nagrom means is that the spoke length is only going to work for a specific spoke pattern, the length is very specific

Gotcha. This is my first try I have a lot to learn but that's the fun of it. If I plan on doing it for actually riding on them then I will take that into consideration and buy new everything. For now I'm just trying for the hell of it.

I think I'm starting understand what nagrom was trying to tell me. I didn't understand at first because I don't know what I'm doing. After trying a few time I copied 3 cross pattern from the rear wheel beginning at the starting spoke at the valve hole went from there. Maybe that's what he meant not sure tho. I'm still lacing I'll take another pic later.

Onya mate. There's a lot of satisfaction in building or just messing about with wheels - consider it a black art. We've a woman here in Adelaide who reckons she builds wheels like other women do knitting.
