weekly miles - 91
average temp during rides - 46 degrees
Rides with rainfall - 8
total rides - 11

Kind of the most miserable week ever, the high 30 degree/low 40 degree pitch black rainy mornings tested every ounce of my resolve. By the end, on Saturday, I was rewarded with a gorgeous 50 degree fall sunny ride that I can't really sum up. Absolutely outstanding.

Next week - morning highs in the low 20's to high 30's (supposedly), but so far, no rain. I can do cold, I can do snow, but the cold rain really is something else.

Now in "fall mode", going for 100 miles/week until spring.

By the way, let's hear estimates! How many miles WILL we total this year?I'm personally projecting another 5000+/- miles in the 2 months left of the year.....

I believe I can add 1500 more miles if you need them.
The cooler temps have given me energy I didn't know I had.

Damnit, 8 miles this week.
YTD, 1999.47 miles. Maybe a few hundred more this year?

40 miles. I'm including the walking I had to do after my headlamp failed. Deal with it.

Spreadsheet updated.

I've passed 2000 miles for the year. I'm not sure I can get to 3000 this year, having lost so much time to the mini-stroke, fractured rib, and depression, but 2500 seems within easy reach.

I'm on track to add at least another 800, but I'd sure like to hit another 1,000. I'd think the group will easily add another 5,000.

Speaking of, how are indoor/trainer miles counted? I'm not going that route, but I'm sure many are.

You did 500+ last week.. I figure with it getting even colder you should be able to pull the whole 5k yourself
I think we should be able to get to 130k stretch goal of 135k.

Week ended 10/25/2008

Distance: 94.40 miles
Time: 5:36:59
Ascent: 4,729 ft

Trainer season has started. 30 of these miles were on the trainer .

I also have reached 2 of my goals for the year as of this week. I am one short ride away (10 miles) from my goal of 3,500 miles for the year. I fully expect to end up around 4,000 by year end.

The other goal is that I reached my target goal of 170 lbs. I have quickly re-evaluated and I think I could lose another 10. I look pretty good, but there is still just a little excess hangage that could go away. Mostly just around my middle toward the back. The classic "love handle". They are small handles, but would like to see if I can get rid of them . I'm no hurry to burn this off but will just continue what I have been doing except for maybe targeting the core exercies a little more this off season and it will probably be gone in a few months.

Spreadsheet updated

Edit:
Heh, guess it would help if I have coffee in the AM! Geez, man.. just take the keyboard away until I do.

I may also be grumpy because the office thermostats are set to 65 degrees and I can't shake the "first sub-freezing ride of the year" shivers.

I understand why you need to ride an indoor trainer.
But it has to be Boring compared to Saturday's ride of 81 miles on Highways as we did this bridge, and 4 other smaller ones.

My jealousy of your Texas lifestyle knows no bounds, I hope you know . I have a good friend in Houston who keeps pushing me to move.. this winter may push me over the edge. If I ever move to Texas, I'd only live in Houston. I love Houston, Austin is OK, don't much like Dallas.

I actually am not going the trainer route this winter. I did the spinner bike thing last year, and it was - as yous aid - boring. I'm attempting to "tough it out". Today was the first sub-freezing ride of the year. Cold, but do-able.

p.s. - The reply in the other thread I just edited. Apologies for replying while still shivering and before coffee .

63.9 miles this week. I had expected my mileage to drop a bit as the weather cooled. Biggest factor in the lower time on the bike, is the kids getting up 15 minutes later- I no longer have the time to take the Hull Ferry (which is 10 miles from the house). I'm taking the Hingham boat instead which is only 4 miles away. C'est la vie....

47 miles this week. Took Thursday and Friday off, and well, just didn't feel like riding. No excuses, that's just how it was this week.

Today starts the "biggest loser" competition at work. I think I'm the only guy in Nebraska whose mileage is going to start going UP in November/December/January compared to September/October.

75 miles, all outdoor, all painfully cold. Next week should be interesting, as I think the snow is going to beat the new rear wheel for the Hardrock as far as who arrives first. Here's hoping the cross tires are all that they are supposed to be.....
