Whoa - check out Fitday!

They just revamped it - so far me like. I really like the mood part - I think that can have more to do with weight loss than just calorie counting. Haven't played with the food db yet - hopefully that's less frustrating than it was before.

Check it out!

Hmm, the search really sucks. 'Chorizo burrito' brought up 3 pages of returns - none of them contained 'chorizo burrito.' I would have been impressed if it gave returns for sausage but this is so much worse than it was before. The returns are a bit weird too - why does each food have a magnifying glass next to it that doesn't do anything different? Bad interface design there.

And while you are adding foods the custom foods only has an alphabetical list of a few while the recent is much longer. Almost everytime I try to add those I have to click twice - again bad interface design.

Login needs to be more permanent - this site is one that people will check in on often. Making it harder to do that will only mean they'll stop going because it's too much work to login to the site 6 or more times a day.

Just started digging into it, as I haven't been in for a couple days, and have backlog! The shiny is nice, but I will reserve judgement on the function. And I agree w/ Air-the search sux. oh well. I just use recent stuff or customs.

I wonder if those of use with an older version that is paid for can get the new version for free, or if it needs to be upgraded for $$? I emailed them once about some sort of enhancement, but I don't remember what it was, anymore. I should rummage through my email to see what it was....I remember the food logs seemed to be better on the downloaded one, and you could add custom activities and modify existing ones from the base calories burned, etc.

***Thats what it was-the ability to sync it with other versions running on PC. The food DB and feature set on the online one was different than the full version, and there wasn't a way to take entered measurements from somewhere 'else' and get them back to my computer at home so Id have different versions running all the time. You had to find the back up file and thumbdrive it around and make sure it was in sync, and that only worked if you had it installed on multiple computers, which is a violation of the TOS and licensing. You could use Online, or local version, but to use both you had to keep them in sync manually.

****Nope, the downloadable version is still Ver 1, so if you paid for it, your still using the old version, even if you download it again. Ill have to email the mods and see if I get a response Ill ask about persistant cookies, too. Ive used it for a couple of years-I wonder how many people used it online vs. paying. My old account file online was ported over to the new interface, though. That's cool.

I agree. The food search is worse than it was before.

When adding a custom food, they broke the interface for filling in the vitamin/etc. info. You can't tab through the vitamins in the correct order that they usually appear on the nutrition labels.

Also, it looks like you can only create "1 serving" of custom food, you can't create a custom food of ".5 cup" or some other measurement.

Also, some very common foods aren't even in the database. They only have the Kraft Free Singles listed! What about all the Deli Deluxe flavors of cheese slices?

Gotta give the Fitday folks a big FAIL on the redesign.
