New guy checking in

Hello all. Well I am a Clydesdale and have decided to do everything I can to lose the weight and get back into the sport that I fell in love with 25 years ago. The wife bought me a new rockhopper comp 29er for my 40th birthday this week to help me get started. I look forward reading and learning from everyone on here.

So I got on the bike this morning for the first real ride for me and the bike. I have not been on my bike in close to a year and did it ever show today. The bike is awsome for the first time in years I had no back pain or numb tingly hands. me on the other hand not so much. It was real hard for me to really enjoy the ride as all I could think of was how in shape I used to be. This is going to be a challenge for me mentaly as I know I can get it back it's just going to take time.

I'm going through that too. I had both knees replaced, and the recovery was a lot longer than I anticipated. I have to change my head as well as get used to the new hardware. You have to persevere. It will come back.
