What did Santa bring?

My SIL bought me a brooks saddle..and my wife got me a new Columbia coat. How about you all?

Ataru074 12-25-13 10:35 AM

My lady santa brought me a garmin 510.
I gave her back: a fitbit force, a fitbit aria, 2 pair of smart wool socks, some cooking goodies, hand cream and soap from l'occitaine, an hp50g (my lady santa is an engineer).
She was blasted :-)... seeing her face was priceless.

decotriumph 12-25-13 10:38 AM

My wife got me the book It's All About the Bike. That'll be my bedtime reader for the next week or so.

indyfabz 12-25-13 11:16 AM

One of these:

http://www.amazon.com/Pellor-Bicycle...ike+lane+light

And a gift card so I can design and buy new Timbuk2 messenger bag, which I need badly.

Black wallnut 12-25-13 11:56 AM

A deep V Velocity rim, 105 front hub and DT Swiss double butted spokes. To match the rear wheel I built a couple months ago. It will be my second wheel build.

WebFootFreak 12-25-13 12:03 PM

My lovely wife got me a 22.5" Denali. Should be here in a few days.

I hit her back with a set of slicks for her mtn bike, 2oz of her favorite perfume, a stand mixer, marble rolling pin (she was screaming for one while baking yesterday) and a marble mortar and pestle.

I have it on good authority that the boy will get tubes and a light kit for his bike... almost have everyone up and rolling again!

Zoxe 12-25-13 03:00 PM

Mrs. Zoxe Santa brought me a set of Boyd Vitesse wheels for the Bianchi.
http://www.boydcycling.com/products/...-clincher.html

Mrs. Zoxe Santa also brought a Selle SMP Plus saddle. I was hoping for one or the other, must have been a good boy this year!

Various other Santas got me DeFeet socks in several styles, replacing my 5 year old walmart jogging socks.

Mom and Dad Santa got me a new Jersey - http://mtborah.com/shop/mens/mens-je...s-flo-2-jersey

Ready for spring so I can try out all the new toys!

nkfrench 12-25-13 04:35 PM

Most notably Santa did NOT bring me rocks, coal, nor switches this year. :)
My cat gave me a kitty spit facial and lots of purring when I tried to snooze late.
My bike humored me without her usual complaining when I was so slow riding yesterday.
I need to make some donations this week to my favorite charities. 'Tis the season.

TrojanHorse 12-25-13 06:48 PM

I didn't get squat for bike presents but we did get my son new gloves and I gave him a nice pair of oakley sunglasses... we hit the road today to try them out. :)

mrodgers 12-25-13 07:11 PM

Absolutely nothing. I did get a gift card to Amazon for which I was going to buy myself a helmet mirror and spend on something else for the bike. But then I found out that my wife didn't want me seeing the money come from the checking account and know what I got so she used our daughter's money. I'm not accepting that so I will either give her $25 back or I'll give her the gift card.

Christmas, the most depressing time of the year. Nothing but fighting from the wife and spending money that I don't have to spend.

leeinmemphis 12-25-13 08:33 PM

I got a couple sets of fenders and my boys got a couple of used old trek r200 recumbents. They are 14 and were blown away. :)

Got a small portable speaker for my camelback made by jbl. Put it to the test on today's short ride. And citizen sports watch with blk face and hi via yellow hands.

Gave out allot which I like. My 13yr old nephew got a haro r1 bmx bike that I scored off craigslist. Previous owner rode it for a month or so and sat in the garage for about 8 yr. Just put Stans in the tubes and cleaned n lubed the chain.

A new (used) laptop.

jaxgtr 12-26-13 08:06 AM

A Garmin 810 and the K-Edge computer mount in Red. It looks sweet on the flat black bike.

Cychologist 12-26-13 09:26 AM

Santa brought me new cycling shoes, cycling socks and a new road ID.

FrenchFit 12-26-13 09:41 AM

Wife totally surprised me with a trailer hitch install for our economy car + a Yakima hitch rack. I totally surprised her with an e-assist kit for her hybrid. I'm thinking lots for road trips in 2014, into the hills.

Pamestique 12-26-13 10:24 AM

I normally don't ask or get stuff for Christmas (too old have everything) but my love, unbeknowst to me, totally reworked my Juliana, adding new hydraulic brakes, total tune up/cables, new shifters, new tires etc. Best present ever!

Christmas, the most depressing time of the year. Nothing but fighting from the wife and spending money that I don't have to spend.

Many years ago I made a deal with myself to remember what Christmas is all about - it got to be many people only thought of it as a time to spend money; I think of it as a time to renew friendships, be grateful for established friendships and family, enjoy pretty lights and ornaments, having time off... I know its hard to make the wife and daughter see the beauty in just making Christmas something better; but sit down, have the chat... I bet everyone will be relieved they don't have to get out and spend hard earned money...

I am so sorry Christmas was not a good time for you.

Bakerb24 12-26-13 11:02 AM

I got a West Virginia Cycling Jersey and a Park Tool PCS-10 Repair Stand. I got her the Charge Hob 3 Mixte Cruiser bike. She loved it. We won't be doing long rides together, but anything that gets her onto a bike with me is good.

psalm 12-26-13 11:23 AM

Cycling related, nothing. But I did get a really nice Stanford T-shirt!

+1 - As I get older the media's manipulation of the consumer at this time of year has become more and more apparent. I woke this AM and turned on the news and was barraged by constant news 'exclusives' of heavily-clothed reporters standing outside malls and reporting post-Christmas 'deep discounts' and that we should get down to the mall ASAP. Its all a bit sickening. From Black Friday through the New Year its $ $ $ $ $ .

At this time of year my greatest gifts are literally my family and my health. Anything else is gravy :)

+1 to this, but gotta add food to that list. Oh my....we had a Ham feast xmas eve, then for xmas dinner my pops cooked up a full rack of Prime Rib awesomeness. Both nights was a 3plate min  Good thing this Rapha Festive500 is going on....otherwise my scale would be going in the wrong direction :ride:

I had a fabulous dinner with friends , at their house, and a couple other friends came, too.

Heritage Turkey fresh , never frozen.. (rather than a mutant 'Butterball')

Rode & then walked, pushing the bike up hill .. there, the return trip down hill was quick.
