I can attest the the new wardrobe not being cheap. But I still get by on my old shorts, my old "fat" jeans are great for wearing a pair....or 2!....of sweat pants underneath them in the winter, and that will probably be my commuting getup in the colder months.

I will say that I love my old hoodies....the extra room in them now makes them so much more comfy.

And for those who are having to buy new shirts, REJOICE!!! You now have plenty of rags to clean your rides with!!

This thread is so ironic . . . . in that clothes no longer fitting is a bummer, however the reason is so cool I wish everyone had problems like this!

My thought process was along these lines (all my clothes are OLD)...

I saw this.
I just spent a long term investment level amount (for me) in winter boots and temperate shoes...
But wearing them, they both can barely fit woolies, and plenty of room to bring in the boa "laces"...

Then I though of my NEW AeroTech jacket (worn twice) and noticed all my dress shirts are now loose. Well, my "loss" (hee hee hee) will be some here's gain. And I'll get that GoreWear Jacket I couldn't get out of...

I've gotten rid of five giant trash bags full of clothes, and have two boxes I've filled up since then. I have a bad habit lately of buying jeans, then putting off hemming them (another disadvantage of being a woman, jeans don't come in a wide variety of lengths) and by the time I get ready to hem them, the pants are too big. But at least they were only $6/pair.

The one thing that's been really expensive for me is bras, because I can't find them used (don't think I'd want a used bra anyhow). I wear a F cup and only know of one store that carries that size, and their bras are all $50. I'm on my 3rd set of bras since I started losing weight.
Thrift stores are the best way to go. I can find sweats and shorts which I can wear riding. I also like the men's tee shirts. They are baggier and allow more air through.

When I get down to my desired weight with the goal being in 15 months, I will think about buying new. Just a few outfits at a time.
