LBS Potentially Mislead Me - Trek Expert Needed

First, this is not a big deal. However, I am insatiably curious about this. Essentially, I am going to buy a Trek CrossRip LTD. The LBS does not have one in my size (I need a 60 or a 61.)

When they looked for a place to order it from, they discovered three, all in California. However, they also informed me that it comes in Black. On the Trek website, and in the product guide, I cannot find an option for it in black. Internet searches have not been able to answer my question:

After extensive research, I have not been able to find any evidence that Trek makes a black one. I really, really, REALLY would love to be wrong. Does anyone know of a black one? Any shop owners able to confirm that it exists? I'll weep grown man tears of joy (yes, those are indeed made of bacon grease) if I can get it in black.

As far as I see, it doesn't come in black. Possibly they saw an older model? Or, maybe the Elite/Comp?

Exactly what I was thinking. However, he pulled it up on the computer to show me. It was definitely the LTD, with the drivetrain, carbon fork, PRICE and all. Just trying to do my own research. Literally might call Trek and ask. haha.

I looked myself and only for a 2013 Crossrip in black( not an LTD). The 2014 & 2015 Crossrip LTD only appear to be in silver. The 2015 Crossrip Elite comes in Black. You should check your receipt for year and model version. If it's not on the receipt, you should contact your LBS.
I'm not a trek expert just did my on research. using the following archive site:

I did! They told me that it was the LTD, which led to my pessimism, which led to this thread!

Yeah, exactly what I've found. This would be a 15. Thanks for the resource for the future!

Got your answer I found in another thread and boy are you going to be surprised!!!!! The reason you can't find it anywhere is you're getting a 2016 Trek.

Check this link: Trek CrossRip LTD - Gregg's Cycles

Ahhh! That's the one! OMG! Super excited! I personally feel like that's infinitely more attractive than the silver!
Thank you a ton!!

Edit: It looks like this price is less than the one the shop quoted me. Is that the shop's variance, or is that a price decrease? (Now I'm just dreaming. Haha.)

My bike shop just called to let me know the one they back-ordered for me last week will be a "2016" and with a black frame as well. I wish I could say I'm as thrilled about it as you are.

Just means they didn't make enough of the most recent one and have all ready tooled up the factory for the new model. Happens a lot more than you realize.

CrossRip Comp, Elite, and LTD are the same frame in different colors. Unless there are changes to the frame, could just be that Trek is moving out some of the older Elite frames with the LTD spec while they switch to the '16 model year.

Are there any other changes to the spec, like full hydraulic brakes instead of the hybrid mechanical/hydraulic HyRd brakes...? 11sp gearing?

Trek's source factory ships across the Ocean to the US west coast, Long Beach Cal is the big container port (Oakland and Seattle are the other 2 main ones )

then the containers are trucked to trek's regional ware houses .. Dealers order from their regional warehouse (big enough order and freight is On the Company)

Also the Crossrip 2013 comes in black (there was no LTD model that year).

Additionally, is there a reason that Gregg's Cycle link looks like parts of the bike (handlebars, crank, seat) are from a CAD modelling?

Yes, that's what we have been looking at. It is not very clear though. Is the 2016 Crossrip Ltd 11 speed as opposed to the 10 speed 2015 Crossrip Ltd.
Is it the same Tiagra Crankset as the 2015 model or the latest brand new Tiagra.
Plus to make it even more confusing the stock picture on Trek retailers websites are all the same CAD drawings up to now.
That looks like the 2015 spec sheet. In theory the 2016 model could be entirely different. Probably won't be too different though

Here it is in all it's glossy black glory. The bike shop told me the specs are all the same except for the saddle:
