My new bike
Well, here it is.....
My new Trek 520. I love the rootbeer color!!!! sparkles in the sun. I fell in love with it on my first test ride. It was soooooo smooth and felt like it was made for me. I do have to swap out the stem still but, have a new one on order with the LBS. I want one with a bit more rise to it.
I plan to take it back to the shop this weekend because the brakes (Avid v-brakes) seem to be set too tight. I can not open them to remove either wheel. that's not good---especially if I need to change a tube/tire. They also forgot to give me some cleats for the clipless pedals.
Anyway, as you can see, I added a few items to him (No name for him but, I have been referring to him as "my sherpa") like the Axiom rear trunk bag, Timbuk 2 seat pack--that I will use for tools/patch kits etc. and I got a topeak road morph pump at REI with the 20% coupon last weekend.
I also, added a cateye mity 8 computer.
I haven't really taken him for a serious ride yet---hopefully this weekend but, I feel we will have many adventures in the near future. I can not wait to take him on a fully loaded tour (next summer) but, I plan to start commuting to work as soon as possible. It will be nice because, I am allowed to store my bike inside at work I still want to get a good U-lock and cable lock for, when I do errands though.
I think I want to get a women's specific handlebar, after the tape gets worn out, so the drops will not be so low. I don't have any issues with shifting, just personal preference for me.
ahhhhhh bike love
I wish I wasn't stuck at work right now so I could go for a ride.
You will probably see me hanging out mostly in the Commuting and Touring areas of this forum...
I definitely plan to do a lot of loaded touring on this bike.

Beautiful bike.
If your tire is flat, you'll be able to squeeze your tire enough to get it through the brakes. When you put the new tube in, inflate it only slightly, put the wheel back on, and inflate it to pressure.
