Yeah, why not just paint the bike lanes like in CPH (blue) and England (reddish). In CPH, it's pretty easy to see the lanes from some distance.

Painting it blue would probably make people park there thinking it's disabled placard parking. Red I think SF is using to indicate transit only lanes .

What is CPH? Did you mean PCH, as in Pacific Coast Highway?

Think the simplified bike routs with better marking and signs is a great idea. Ideally the signs would be color coordinate and there would be a marking in part of the bike lane or on the road in the colors of the routs, but keep the primary color of bike lanes green to avoid confusion as to what they are by having the a consistent color.

Definitely a good idea, and could serve as a prompt for cities to add bike-specific roads and bike sharing similar to subway stops.

All blue or all red doesn't really accomplish what he was trying to do, navigation. Not about visibility of the bike lanes themselves, but when you're in the lanes, how to navigate around town by bike without having to pull out a map.

the $200K a year people at Google and such companies can afford the HIGH cost of living in SF ,
they boosted market rates, by being the money the landlords and real estate industry gobbled up,

seeing them lucrative. i-cash cows.

I moved away long ago , making/repairing actual things .. paid too little.

sounds like you have not ridden in a place that employs them properly

Can you please give me an example of where all red bike lanes help navigation? Having all routes the same color doesn't really differentiate the routes to different regions.
