No rain gear, fenders, or anything to protect me. The way there wasn't rainy but I am soaked from the way back. Fenders are a beautiful thing .
Edit: Rain coats are too

Also in SE MI here. After checking the weather I rode the bike with fenders even though it's NOT FUN to ride (too heavy and IGH = hard to pedal). I don't mind getting wet but I don't want roadkill juice in my mouth.
It's looking like it's gonna keep raining for a while (already been going all day).

I have used fenders for commuting for 30 years. This spring I finally bought an extended front fender and added a flap that flirts with the ground. What a difference! No more wet toes! Well, that's my commuter with rack and wald folding baskets. When it's dry I ride my road bike with no fenders or rack. For that I carry two Fed Ex cardboard letter envelopes. I cut two slits and use a light bungee cord to stick one on the downtube to help prevent front tire splash. The other gets folded and bungeed to the bottom of my saddlebag for rear stripe prevention. BUt nothing beats full fenders.
