cycle computers
Maybe a dumb question but here it is.
I want to move my computer from my handlebars to the stem.
When I mounted it to the handlebar there was a little piece of sticky rubber that you put on first.
How important is that piece of rubber?I'm sure I wont be able to pull it off in one piece and be able to stick it to the stem.
Will electrical tape do the job?Or do I even need to have anything between the computer and the stem.
It's a steel stem and a Cigma computer if that makes any differance.

It provides friction and is slightly compressible to match the diameter of different bars. Scrap pieces of rubber (old tube etc.) could do same thing. Electrical tape will shim it up too, but might not provide enough friction to keep it in place.
