Garmin Edge 500 won't turn on
I went to turn on my Garmin Edge 500 this evening for a ride and encountered an issue. When I went to turn on the unit, the "Garmin" welcome screen appeared, and then it turned off automatically and then turned back on to the "Garmin" welcome screen and then turned off again, and so on. Every time it turns off and then turns on the unit beeps. No matter what I do it continues to automatically turn on and off. I assume at some point it'll stop but it hasn't so far.
I tried connecting the Garmin to my computer and it won't recognize the device, probably because it isn't really on, it's only in start-up mode.
What do I do?

Hard reset is NOT working -- the screen comes up for a split second, then the Garmin reboots and so on ...

I had the same issue on my first 500. Basically what happened is the memory completely corrupted, including, I'm guessing, it's boot memory. I had put all the files back, after they got corrupted, but still didn't work. The display ended up being incredibly dim also. This was after 5 months or so. After the second unit started acting up also, I threw more money at them and get an 800.

Called Garmin - easy fix. Had to hold down power+menu+reset buttons for a few seconds and it reset.
