I'm from holland but not from that area. What kind of cycling are you into. For mountainbiking you could place post in the let's ride section on forum.mountainbike.nl for touring on a race bike you could post in https://forum.fiets.nl/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=29. Both are dutch forums but in general people are willing to make exceptions and post in english.
You could also look at www.wereldfietser.nl for more long distance touring and www.dirty-pages.net for mountainbiking and singlespeed.

I was born there, but never did a lot of cycling around there My parents go MTB-riding sometimes... The area around 'het Lonnekermeer' (the Lonneker Lake) is pretty and the forest between Enschede and Hengelo is very nice to ride too. If you wanna know anything about the surroundings just ask

Was just in the Lochem area on vacation visiting parents so went on a few rides. See my post linked below which is geared more towards non-Dutch riders:

Thanks for the info, tips & offers to help. It is much appreciated. Unfortunately, the opportunity in Hengelo did not work out at the very last moment & i'm now moving to Seattle instead. Should be fun there too
