Have You 50+ Folks Voted Yet?

Have You 50+ Folks in the US of A Voted Yet?

With all the early voting, absentee and mail-in ballots, I'm curious as to whether or not you have voted.

I'm not asking for whom you voted, just if you have already done it.

Being very involved with an amendment in Colorado, it occurs to me that our advertising dollar may not be spent very well if we wait too long and a lot of folks have already voted prior to November 4th.

This poll is private. Your vote will not show.

I voted on October 6th.

I was taking my daughter into the clerk's office to change her place of residence and for her to cast an absentee ballot. While there, I looked at the sample ballot for my township and noticed that I had a firm opinion on every single candidate and referendum. So I went ahead and voted. I may do some volunteer work on Election Day, helping people get to the polls.

If I want to vote, I've no choice but to wait until election day. Besides, I like the social aspect of talking with poll workers and others... not about politics but other things.

I could do that, but the polling place is literally less than one block. I'll probably walk!

It's only a 3 minute ride for me. But it's the posing that I enjoy once I get there with the free coffee and all...

Since it seems like we've had to put up with their commercials since the day after election day 4 years ago, and since they're going to continue cluttering up the airwaves with their drivel until November 4, it only seems fair to make them wait until then to find out whether or not I voted for them. In addition, the political parties here in southwestern Ohio seem to have far too many races where folks are running unopposed; I refuse to vote for anyone who's in that position, on the theory that if they're too lazy to get out and vote for themselves, they deserve to lose. I'm also going to continue one other thing I've been doing about the local politicians: I take note of which candidates don't take their signs down by, say, November 11th. No more of my votes for them!

Oregon is vote-by-mail only. I've got my ballot. My mind is made up except for one of the municipal issues.
I miss going to the polls. It was almost spiritual for me.

The Election Commission is across the street from my office so I went and voted on the first day last week.

The downside to this is that campaign people are ALWAYS out there. I think it finally got out of hand enough that some of them were moved. One of the state senate candidates had a big pickup truck sitting out there with both doors open and the radio blaring. I went and put a stop to that myself.

No choice here, either. The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania doesn't allow early voting, and requires an excuse for an absentee ballot (is a note from my Mom a valid excuse?).

Don't tell me you have a vote on a national scale as to what pie is best?

It may be your vote that counts but can you keep the run up off our TV for at least 24hours so we can concentrate on our priorities? I am beginning to feel that we are just as much informed- or even better informed- than most in the US.

We voted early by mail. It's much less hassle, been doing it that way for the past few years.

Wow. If the race is close they will definitely have to wait for those absentee ballots if this is any measure. I have heard 1/3 of Florida is voting early.

I know this is horrible but I think I will not vote this year. Not one presidential candidate appeals to me. As to local issues, this is CA, doesn't matter what I think. The far left will prevail so why bother (and I am a liberal just more middle than left).

I normally vote on election day. Just seems more special to me that way.

We have no polls in Oregon, all voting is by mail. My ballot came late last week and was returned yesterday, no lines or waiting.

I like your style Makeitso - I've know a few that gave all thinking they were maintaining freedom, among them the right to vote. I will always vote in their honor.

No waiting on absentee ballots up here. Those are run through the voting tabulator first thing in the morning. Then as each person votes, those are counted as they drop their ballot into the scanner. When the precinct locks the doors, the votes are already counted. Then they review the ballots that were flagged as improper by the scanner.

I'll be voting in the next week because I'll be visiting colleges with my son on election day.

This has been the most oppressive Presidential campaign I can ever remember. The damn thing started last October and has not let up since. And how much money have all the candidates spent? It must be pushing a billion dollars total. What they could have accomplished if that money had been directed to the poor and needy.....

Over the last 25 years or so, I have missed voting in one election. This includes all general elections, primaries, special elections and referendums, town council elections etc..

My precinct is good about voting too. Usually up around 75%-80% vote. I've waited in some long lines on Election Day, sometimes 70-80 people deep.
