Not quite as unseasonably nice as Saturday but rode the long wheelbase 'bent 10 miles this afternoon in quite windy but almost warm conditions.

Well, Saturday, I tried. I made it 4.8 miles and had to bag it. Bad rear tire and tube. It was REALLY nice and worm for NW Illinois. Dang!
This morning, at the Y:
-45 min. of weight training.
-17 min. on the stationary bike. They put new "Livestrong" bikes in place of the old "LeMond" ones, and these don't give any mileage. But I did 17 min. at an average of 86 bpm cadence.

Two back to back days of riding..
WOW, two days of back to back days of riding uninterrupted by rain.
Short ride to Neptune's Net (PCH on Malibu). Forty-six windy miles on the Master. Fourth post-surgery ride, average speed: 14 mph. Almost back to my old form.
Riding the Master is so much fun.
These are some of the cars that were parked at Neptune's Net. C&V cars, driven by the over 50 crowd. Nice!
When I was in college I owned a 1972 Chevy Malibu that was in pristine condition. Alas, I needed money so I sold it. Been regretting it ever since.

A shortened 16.4 miles (26.4k) today. I felt really tired and the cold (32°) didn't help. But I did get a ride in.

Went out for a nice, slow 32 miler on Saturday.
Intended to ride my age for my b'day on Sunday, but went almost 1/2 way.
But, that's OK.

22 quick miles just before a beautiful warm FL sunset. I'm feeling really good in the saddle and completely recovered after my pelvic break in November. There was a time when I doubted whether I'd get my old form back, and although I've got a ways to go, the heart lungs and legs seem to be cooperating.

More great weather meant a great, 40 mile, solo ride. I did manage to tag a ride with Amanda Coker for a few miles until my turnoff. Good thing the pollen count was low or I would never have lasted that long riding with her.

A pleasant 25 solo miles today, at a pace that allowed me to still walk after I got home.

Cold but sunny out this morning. A section of the bike path is still covered in mud (unrideable). 15.4 miles (24.8k) but the afternoon was so nice I went out for another 11.9 miles (19.2k) for a total of 27.3 miles (43.9k). Looks like two more days of riding until the next series of storms gets here.

Kudos to you as well, Greybeard. I'm 'only' 59, but went instead of splat, I distinctly heard snap, crackle, pop when I went down (also double fracture right side BTW). I've been following your mileage, and I think it will be like the tortoise and the hare with us. You are persistent, ride most days, and hammer out the miles at a steady pace.
Since I work, I don't get to ride as long as I would like during the week, but try to pound it out when I do. Luckily, I do live in FL (like John V), and there ain't nothing better than winter riding; warm FL wind aside.
Tonight I got 27 quick miles in (solo, as usual), and the Garmin shows 163 mi in 9.31 hours, for an average of 17.5 mph. There are a few traffic lights and the town of Archer to go through, but other than that it's open road, where I can really uncork.
Having a nice bike helps, and I'm pleased with my progress since being back on the bike.

Valentine's Day ride this evening on the Screamer with my favorite stoker. 9 miles in 50F mild February conditions. Sweet!

21.1 Miles (30.0k), mostly cloudy. A section of the bike path is still closed for mud and tree cutting. I rode thru there today (walked the silty mud) and got a lot of dirty looks, so I went around on the return trip. Tomorrow is ify, might rain, might not (probably sprinkle). Fool hardy soul that I am I'll probably ride anyway. Friday thru Sunday rain & snow.

No ride yesterday due to the 30-40 mph wind gusts. It was an all day affair. The wife and I went to Performance Bike to get some stuff and had to exit the interstate and go through the city because the wind was blowing my van all over the road. 58 slow and windy miles with my riding buddy, Frankie. The wind just didn't want to quit today. It hammered us from all angles but it wasn't anywhere as bad as it was yesterday.

Didn't ride yesterday either due to the gale force winds, but saw three hearty souls on tri-bikes. Today was a long work day, but after getting home late managed to get 15 strong miles in. After the ride I noticed how much sand is working its way into the cog and chain. I'll have to be more vigilant in cleaning, but accept it as a fact of my new riding route and replace components when the time comes. But that's OK, a bike is an instrument to be used, after all.

About 20 miles Thursday evening. Glitch in Strava and Cyclemeter, recorded only part of route, but I've ridden that same route many times and it's around 20 miles.
Took it slow, first ride since Sunday, still recovering from crash and bruised ribs Feb 5. I pushed it too hard the first week and finally had to admit I needed rest more than exercise. Ribs are finally starting to feel almost normal again. Only hurts when I cough or sneeze now.

I'm doing the Honor Ride tomorrow with a group of friends. Signed up for the metric century. After doing 58 miles yesterday, this morning's 40 mile ride was rather relaxing while enjoying the scenery and company of my friends, Frank and Karen.

Weather called for rain late today, so I headed out late AM for what I hoped to be a nice 40+ mile ride. About 15 mikes in, the clouds increased, winds picked up, and eventually a cold (by FL standards) rain started. Not pleasant.....
Not wishing to repeat my November pelvic adventure, I pulled a U-turn and headed NE, detouring slightly south of Archer on I-41. The winds really picked up on the return.
Ended up just under 36 miles (18.8 mph) and a bike full of sand and grit. Torrential rains in the way (SE Doppler radar), so I'm grateful for what I was able to get in.
Note to self: braking efficiency in the rain is greatly reduced!!

Rode the 2017, St. Petersburg Wounded Warriors Honor Ride for 62 miles this morning with three of my friends. Winds were a b***h and the traffic all along the beaches was horrendous. Had a few spots where we had a real nice tailwind but most of the ride was heading south, right into the wind.

A fun, relaxed, easygoing 15 mile cruise with friends, including a stop midway to grab coffee at Starbucks. 70 degrees, no breeze. Bike trails were packed with tons of people on bikes getting out to enjoy the non-winter weather. It was lovely.
