How can a bicycle named Freddy Mertz, with his picture decaled on it, be a "her?"

That is just too confusing for me to deal with.

You got old....er. Unfortunately Vivian Vance, the actress who played Ethel, passed away in 1979, at the age of 70, she would have been in her 40's when the show was in production. Actually they are all gone now William Frawley (Fred Mertz) passed away in 1966, Desi Arnaz in 1986 and Lucille Ball in 1989.....
