I don't know anything about deer as far as the life viability of a young one like this. Maybe it's weaned?

I know a few country folks in my area have raised orphaned deer as pets. There was a real flap last fall when some boneheaded teenage redneck stopped his truck in a rural neighborhood, pulled his rifle from the gunrack and shot a pet deer in the front yard. Was gonna field dress these people's pet right there on their lawn when he was confronted by the outraged family.

Nice video. Maybe you can bring it home.

I wouldn't worry about it. We've had fawns all over the yard the last couple of weeks, with no signs of Mom around. Happens every year. They all manage to grow up and continue to eat our flowers and veggies. ;-)
