An adapter kit for letting a child be the stoker. Seen and installed a few for people back in the day. I think they had just come out, or at least they were new to me. I think they are a great idea, myself. Our old club, Pensacola Freewheelers, had two Atala tandems (I seem to remember that marque,) we used for letting the sight impaired enjoy an cycling outing, back in the mid-late 70s. No child adapted models, unfortunately, just set up for adults at that time. I often wonder where those tandems are now.
Roger, that is a sweet looking tandem you have, what is the marque? I cannot make it out in the picture you posted.

Bill, It was built by Joe McElroy in 1984. He was a Boeing engineer that built 35 bikes back in the 80s. It was just a hobby for him, but he built a very nice frame. He's from Snoqualmie, WA. The bike is mostly original, but the brakes were upgraded to hydraulic Maguras at some point.

Roger,
Thanks for the ID, I have heard of him, just never saw a picture of one of his bikes before. I **** the build, and the adapter for the kid as stoker, as fast as they grow, your projection may be a bit long! Good to see a dad with their son being involved in cycling, Bravo!

You asked for it! My Man Shopper. Gets me out on the bike when I wouldn`t otherwise go. Thief proof (rusty back wheel sees to that) and great fun with its high seated position. .
Cost a tenner from me laddo who was (in his own words) never gonna ride it . . . Sorted out the important bits and off she went! The basket holds loads o` stuff . . .

Of late, I've kinda started taking a shine to classic lugged steel frame bikes. One of them was a Colnago Decor Super C96, and the other, a Bottecchia of unknown vintage and model. Just sitting in my garage right now, looking for a little loving care. She's much heavier than the 'Nago, so I'm trying to figure out whether to keep her period correct, go with some updated components, or even turn her into a fixie.
Sure is pretty, though ... especially that matching frame pump.
I do love red ... the only color for high heels, lipstick ... anything sexy.

Here is my recently completed '73 Raleigh Super Course TT build with the '81 Fuji Royale that I restored for my brother. We took a sweltering ride in the NYC heat and humidity yesterday.

Procrastinateur supreme
Sort of a requiem - here's my '82 Stan Pike, built for me, with an admittedly peculiar seat tilt - clamp kept loosening. I snapped this photo one day without much thought about proper photography a few years ago. Anyway, a month ago, I suffered a freak accident - a 3" piece of stout tree branch flipped up into my front wheel and jammed the fender against the crown. I was going about 18mph and in a flash, rotated squarely forward 90°, planting me on my helmeted forehead. I was dazed, but my fork bent straight back so the wheel is now touching the downtube. Don't think that it can be straightened. Both top and downtube are straight, steering tube is straight but restoring the fork on my baby would be way expensive, and my life is too complicated to think about it now. I don't want to say much other than that it brought me much joy in my many trips through France, Greece, England, and Scotland.

This is a repost from another thread, however being a fan of Cannondales' I couldn't resist posting it here. Thanks to @oldroadog for the original post.
