That is a Masi Gran Criterium, mid-70's.

The location is the Park Loop Road, Acadia National Park, Mt. Desert, Maine.

Thanks for asking!

I bought my 1984 Schwinn Peloton at a liquidation sale last month for $90. I removed the Superbe friction components in favor of 105 indexed shifting. This thing is so fun to ride.

My nephew sent me a link to a CL ad asking what I thought of the bike for his wife. It was the wrong bike for her in so many ways, BUT, it was red! That's got to count for something

Thanks! I've been through a couple sets of wheels (heavy rider)... The stock Oval parts were pretty crappy. Started breaking spokes pretty quickly. I "upgraded" to some Mavic ksyrium elites and the rims failed (cracks at spoke holes).

The third try was a charm. These are H+sons SL-42 rims (36 hole for the rear and 28 in front) w/ White hubs. Ordered these from ProWheelBuilder.com (highly recommended). They have been bulletproof so far.

The bike I ride and enjoy the most. Last model of the Prince that was made before the introduced the Dogma as their top of the line model. 1st generation Campy Super Record 11 speed. 38 mm Carbon wheels purchased directly from China and are holding up very well.

Just how exactly is this bike getting a lot of use without pedals on the rear crankset? What???? It has TWO cranksets on the back?

An adapter kit for letting a child be the stoker. Seen and installed a few for people back in the day. I think they had just come out, or at least they were new to me. I think they are a great idea, myself. Our old club, Pensacola Freewheelers, had two Atala tandems (I seem to remember that marque,) we used for letting the sight impaired enjoy an cycling outing, back in the mid-late 70s. No child adapted models, unfortunately, just set up for adults at that time. I often wonder where those tandems are now.

Roger, that is a sweet looking tandem you have, what is the marque? I cannot make it out in the picture you posted.

Bill
