Prayers for an over 50 rider...

https://bikeportland.org/2012/08/06/c...ollision-75572

"Marilyn Hayward, owner of Coventry Cycle Works in Southeast Portland, is in the Intensive Care Unit at Legacy Hospital in Portland today following a collision she was involved in while bicycling in Cornelius this morning.

According to The Oregonian, the collision happened around 10:00 am at the intersection of N. Adair and 10th (about 24 miles west of downtown Portland). They are reporting that a preliminary investigation showed that Hayward was bicycling west on Adair and the person operating the Prius was driving south on 10th."

Marilyn is a safety-conscience, dedicated racer, endurance rider, commuter and shop owner. On top of that, she's simply a great person who has never met a stranger.

Please keep her in your thoughts.

Better news - she's out of ICU and is now moving around....
Morning report time.... Marilyn is now walking to the bathroom with nursing assistance and seems to be a little more awake. Evidently she had one of her super smiles going this morning, so that is very encouraging. She still is progressing well but not there yet. Nursing staff wants to keep the same visiting policy - she has a sign on her door to check with nurses. Please do. She is starting to eat - nothing exciting, just "full solids". She really needs her calories right now. I will post again after I visit early afternoon. Keep those good thoughts coming!!

Dear Marilyn,

Though I do nor personally know you but, clearly, you are well esteemed and loved in the cycling community. That is good enough for me to join in with wishes of God speed for a return to the community.
