Over 5000 miles so far on the rodie.
Got home after a 35 mile ride this AM and the Cyclocomputer read 5014 miles on the odometer. This odometer was bought with the roadie which I got at the end of March of this year. Prior to that I was using my Diamondback LX hybrid/comfort and only had about 600 miles on that bike(was off of it for 4 weeks post hand surgery plus 2 weeks because of SI sciatica). I will be riding all year so I expect to log another 2400 miles minimum.

Way to go Mikey! Keep them miles coming. I'm at 4,572 for the year. It think it would be closer to 6,000 miles if I didn't have the shoulder injury that kept me off the bike for a month and the two weeks where I didn't ride while visiting relatives up north.

I suppose I should invest in a decent cyclometer. My mileage is simply estimated, based on my 'normal' average speed and time.
Who am I kidding, the last time I had any sort of 'real' odometer was back in the '70s-early '80s with those gawd-awful mechanical 'clicker' units that turned via a pin attached to a spoke...
I think I still have one rattling around in my parts box...

Good cycling Bikey Mikey!
I'm sitting at just a tad over 6,800 miles for the year . . . still several months to go!
14 centuries so far in 2012 but only two doubles . . . yes, I am slowing down!

Setting a pretty high bar there, Trsnrtr.
And way to go Mikey... but get your vernacular straight. "Roadie" describes a person, not his/her bike. If I'm riding my TT bike, I'm still a Roadie; not a tri-geek.

AzTallRider,
Thanks for the clarification.
@trsnrtr,
Have a bit to go to rack up those miles over many years.

The amazing thing about Mr. Trsnrtr is that he's put in that kind of mileage and has still maintained a marriage at the same time.

Some of you guys like Mikey and John V inspired me to keep pumping up the miles. Started to really ride last December after my back surgeon to ride a bike for exercise (no more golf). Well after starting off slowly when I was in South Florida for the winter, I'm up to 3300 miles and going for in excess of 600 miles for the third straight month for my 64th birthday and haven't felt this good since high school. Original goal was 3M miles, amended mentally to 4 and now wondering if I can hit 5M as the weather is getting cooler in NY and I won't get to Florida till Thanksgiving. I guess it's really habit forming. thanks guys.

@Ruby
Super job...keep it going.
------------------------------------------
My hope is to break 8000 miles this year in total, road bike + the comfort/hybrid. Told my wife about breaking 5000 miles on just the road bike--she just stared and said, "Wow!"

Congrats on the milestone Mikie. That is a lot of miles for the first season of ramping it up on the road bike.
