Hi, I´m from Argentina and since we don´t have access to good bikes over here, I took the opportunity of a friend coming visit the next month and bought online a Ridley Fenix Force 22 at competitive cyclist.

May have rushed / took the sales person at the chat advice without reading and went for the XL Frame Size.

I´m 1.90 mts and since I´m anxiously waiting for my friend to come, I started browsing around and found several threads in different forums about Ridley´s "" riding larger"" than other brands. Had to go thought this to wonder at ridley´s homepage and finding their size charts, that say that the XL (60cm effective TT) is for 1.94 mts and taller people.

I might have a chance to try and change the bike for an L frame, but this would be a logistic´s nightmare and may be costly $ wise (since the bike is no longer at the address CC shipped it, so i might run through another $ 180 UPS shipping within the US....)

Wanted to get some input, if possible from Fenix´s owners about my height and in general from experienced users (first road bike for me, this one) about trying to just fit the XL frame to my height (difficulty level, expenses, etc) and any other help / tips you could post.

Yeah, at 190 cm (that's 6'2.8" to Yanks and Brits), if you asked me, I'd have put you on the Large. The 58.5 cm top tube should be just about right with a 12 or 13 cm stem. Well, it's supposed to come with a 11, so maybe you'll like it that way. Once you've found a fit you like, it's worthwhile to know your top tube range.

$1899 for a Force-equipped pro level frame is an amazing deal. At a mere 182 cm, I know I'd be in hog heaven on a Medium with a 13 cm stem.

Hi!, well, i got it 15 days ago or so when it was at $1799, and yeah, seemed to be a steal vs anything else I found, and also reading the few Fenix reviews that I googled the bike seemed to be perfect for someone switching from a MTB.

Regarding size, talked again with the sales girl that placed the order for me at CC (Shae, she was great, even got free shipping without asking!) and she told me she stood by her recomendation and that she has quite a lot of experience regarding to Ridley's sizing, so I'm just going to keep the XL and hope it turns out well once I finally have the bike here.

I hope that if it does not fit perfect (i dont even know what a proper fit is, since the only adjustment I mademy GT karakoram was the seat height) the difference is just performance related than not being able to comfortably ride the bike for long distances (currently puting 100km rides on the GT).

Thanks for your help and once I finally get the bike I'll show here telling how it went so that anyone else trying to get this bike knows.

I have a Ridley Fenix force 22 and it's a great bike. I'm 6'4" with a 36" inseam and the xl fits me with 3" top tube clearance.

Depending upon your arm and torso length, the XL should be correct fitment in the top tube. My personal rides are 60cm top tubes with 90 stems, and I am right at 6 foot (1.8 meters for you non-Yanks . Really depends upon the upper body and arms, but you will be fine with a stem adjust if needed.

Well, holy bumps, Batman!!

Turns out the bike reaching me took a bit longer than what I expected, but FINALLY! got it last weekend.

Take in account that this is my first road bike ever, but from that basis, I really love the way it fits, adapting from almost a year of riding just the old GT MTB, is going great and I am feeling confortable, tho the longest ride so far has been just 56km long.

Have to fine tune saddle, not sure if it's a bit more to the back than what I want, but ohter than that, luckily, there has been 0 problems regarding the XL frame size choice.
