A question for our folderistas in England.
My nephew and his wife will be leaving for Oxford in two weeks and I talked to them about folding bikes. I showed them on line about the Brompton and his wife was really interested in the Brompton. Where is a good place to look for them used? Stores, Online in the UK?

The best place by far is www.ebay.co.uk to get a good Brompton. They won't be significantly cheaper but you can get still get good value on some listings.

Correct me if I am wrong, but as I recall Neobike was the Japanese manfacturer of the Brompton line a few years back. The low bid on this item makes me wonder if there's some issue with that particular item or the components in general. Can anyone tell approximately how old the bike is?

They were built between 1992 and 2002 . I hope the person bidding knows it is not a built in UK Brompton.

You probably already know, but a tourist will get re-imbursed for VAT (approx 17%). I would bring an extra suitcase or buy one there to bring back the bike. By the way, if you buy from ebay, I'm not sure if the refund is still valid.
