what is this??

hi everyone, I posted in the vintage section but no imformation availiable so maybe someone can help here-

I have a shogun frame and the forks are marked tangaloy Iam really interested in finding out what exactly this is? the frame is a hybrid with a sloping top tube and is cro mo made in Taiwan. it looks like a 90's bike. I have seached the net and found a comment that says it may be tange mangaloy, but i cant find a definitive answer.

It's steel, made in Taiwan... what greater degree of definition would you like?

thanks for the reply. as you may be aware of, there are numerous alloys of steel or there is plain old mild steel. Tangaloy implies that it is an alloy, which could make a vast or slight difference in properties to mild steel. How this may effect me is that if it is an alloy- it may be lighter and stronger. As I have 2 frames to choose from for my next project, the quality of the materials will affect my choice.

and being made in Taiwan is better than china.

So in answer to your question I would like to know what alloy tangaloy is?

thanks
