Motorcycle in Bicycling magazine

I was at a friend's house last night and was flipping through the pages of the latest Bicycling magazine. (You don't think I would actually admit to having a subscription do you?) In its listing of cool and/or new products, they had a kid's motorcycle. Did anyone else find that a little strange? I know the folks at Bicycling seem to have a hard time finding anything related to bicycling to write about, but..... motorcycles????

Well, like any other magazine, their goal is sales of advertising space first, and sales of magazines second (I'm not even sure they aspire to quality articles at all), so no, I'm not surprised. Personally, I'm not even sure why people bother reading magazines at all these days. All the articles you could ever possibly want to read are available freely on the Internet. You might as well just spend the 30 seconds it takes to google it, save yourself a few bucks, and save a few trees.

Yeah, its kinda out a place, but is pays the magazine and the motorcycle company has reason to believe that this reaches potential customers.
All mags like this are like pages of ads with articles and hot new product sidebars too coincidentially being about the same products in the ads.
I don't subsribe, but read 'em while getting coffee at the bookstore.

Because I don't want to take my laptop in the bathroom with me.

Its not so bad, but it can get to be a little hot depending on how long you spend... wireless internet is great.

Fair comment, but I'm not sure I'd use a magazine for that purpose either. They're usually printed on that really slick, almost plastic-like paper, which doesn't give a very good purchase. Newspapers are far better for cleaning up afterwards.

How's this for odd, on their website the bicycle commuting forum is sponsored by Ford. I don't think they get it.
