Sunglass Lense Color Question

I'm looking at getting an addtional lense for my Oakley M-Frames for when I ride in the evening. My eyes are pretty sensitive, so the clear lenses are out of the question.

So my question is...what is the best color for darker conditions (not quite dark, but not quite bright out)? I'd like a color that won't restrict me being able to pick out shadows or anything like that (for example...i once wore some black iridium lenses while skiiing...that particluar color of lense made it almost impossible to pick out shadows on a white surface...couldn't see the shadows of most moguls...you can imagine how much that sucked)

Thanks,

Paul

The best lenses for enhancing contrast for the situation you're describing are the amber/yellow lenses. You can ALMOST wear them into the dark as well. You'll be pretty amazed at how well things will brighten up and the contrast will be enhanced with the amber/yellow lenses.

Yeah, yellow lenses are your best bet for enhancing contrast. That's why almost all shooter's glasses are yellow.

I wear the yellow colored lenses for my evening rides. It's usually daylight when I go out, and fully dark by the time I get home. The yellows are adequate for both.

You might try the Rose coloured lenses, if they have them. I have Bolle's and they're good into twilight situations.

Red colours filter out green light, which means that vegetation appears dull and has less variation than normal. This can be a real drag on a ride through the countryside. Red cars also appear horribly bright.
I prefer neutral gray shades in bright conditions, but for my normal conditions (cloudy daylight) I prefer clear glass.
Yellow is used to filter out hazy blue light, which may improve your vision at distance.
