299 miles in 20 days
right medial elow pain
hurts to flex elbow afgter 10 minutes riding

intense beginnings for sure
epicondlitis?
flexor tendonitis?
i suspect i need a short stem
willing to do anything to keep riding
love having triple chainrings for hills
the bike is a bit heavy
it is so much fun
thank god i finally bought it and got out there
just need help with this pain
i am an md
and a bad patient
i will not do an mri unless forced to at gun point
very claustrophobic
adivl and rest help'
but i am dying to stay out there
even rode 15 miles in riad few days ago, came home covered in mud and muck
but well worth it
and now i am glued to "the tour" dialy on tv
i am obsessed
will go to lbs for a re-fit to see about the stem and seat position and handlebar position/angle
sned advice on the forum or a pm or e-mail

i had a bout of elbow pain a couple of years ago. I was diagnosed with severe cubital tunnel nerve damage. I had a couple of months of physical therapy, and from there I changed my bike considerably. I had been riding an AL hybrid and tended to lock out my elbows. I switched to a carbon fiber roadie (Specialized Roubaix) with a carbon handlebar to reduce vibration. I also try to remember to not lock out my elbows and when it flares up I wear an Under Armour football neoprene elbow pad which does a great job of soaking up vibration (but also gets a bit warm to wear). This has prevented any further problems and kept me out of surgery. I hope this helps.

RICE, perhaps?
Christ man, you're a doctor. You don't understand the importance of not pushing through an injury?
My sympathies on your pain. But really, cycling doesn't work your elbow much - if that's in pain you really should stop and see a professional.
Best of luck.

I thought doctors just had bad handwriting. Their typing sucks too!
archer good luck getting it fixed. Go see a doctor, jeeeeeeez. Its not that hard to be a patient! If you need an MRI, have them knock you out with tranquilizers or something, if you are claustrophobic.

which type of therapist?
physical
occupational
or perhaps
as i read and get your meaning
some psycho (cyclo) therapy?
i ride a cyclocross bike, but not in any sort of condition to enter a cyclocros event
got it for the features
wider tires
sturdier bike
i am a clyde, getting smaller, but about 230 lbs
saw an orthopedist today
said probably epicondylitis (golfer;s or archer's or biker's elbow) or tnedon issue or bpne spur
no xray, no mri
rest, ice, advil
thanks all

Let's just break this down into Haiku for ya...
One heavy rider,
elbows lock'd, collar bones sag.
Wrists pronated out.
Bad bicycle fit,
must raise bars for a clydesdale.
Reduce stress on arms.
Thirty push-ups do,
each and everyday til strong.
Then, pain go away.
EDIT: haiku music fade-out.......
