Cambria Bicycle Outfitters: Beware of your purchases

These guys are not worthy of doing business with over the internet. If you order something from these jokers they will send you an item that you didn't order and then blame you for their screw-ups. There are many other companies that offer legitimate service and these guys are not one of them.

They will not pay the shipping costs for their errors nor will they fix their errors. Guys/Gals there are ways of doing business and this company does it the opposite.

This sounds like a possible disgruntled employee to me.

Give us some details please and the sequence of events that led to this conclusion.

I think some more explaining of the particulars is needed here before categorical statements like that will be accepted as truth.

Bought a new wheelset

via their website.

Purchased the correct Mavic wheelset but they sent me something else despite the fact that I have a confirmation email telling me what I ordered. When it arrived via Fed Ex the wheelset was completely different from the picture and text that was provided. I call them up to fix the situation and they blamed me for their screw up. I have all the documentation yet they won't accept it because THEIR computer says differently. Well I told them THEIR computer was wrong and they proceeded to tell me that I had to pay to return my wheelset due to their mistake. They would not swap the products out nor would they pay for their mistake despite all my documentation--they didn't want to see it. The price for the two wheelsets is exactly the same.

So now I have to pay another 30 bucks to send this wheelset back in addition to the original 30 they tacked on to my order to ship it to me in the first place. If I want to swap the wheelset then I am looking at an additional 30 bucks.

I am soo pissed right now as I have never been treated so badly by a bike company. I shop all the time but this was the first time with these idiots. Never Never Ever Again.

Now that does sound like a bunch of embeciles. They don't want to stay in business long with that type customer service.

This order was placed on-line confirming the exact order you placed, which you have a record/proof of. I don't understand why they don't have that same item # that you placed in their system. Something is not right here....

Crazy buggers. Be persistent and polite and hopefully you'll get it sorted out. Call the CS manager until they read a copy of the confirmation email they sent you, and you might at least get a refund and return postage. You might consider disputing the payment on you credit card (if you used one).

Just to clear up some details:

What wheelset did you order?
What did they send you? Was it a totally different hub/spokes/rim combo? Wrong color?

If you charged the purchase to a credit card and can't get satisfaction from the merchant, call your credit card company. If you have adequate documentation, they will 'charge back' the purchase for you and pursue settlement of your claim against the merchant on your behalf. Good luck!

So what has happened ? I like to know the end of stories... did you pursue the credit card company to et them? I hope you got your money back.
