Chamois stitching causing a pain in the Butt

Rode in a new bib I received as a gift, "performance ultra II", and i found that there is a raised area in the stitching to the chamois that rubbed a lot of skin off.

Any one have an idea how to solve that? will a silicone bead over the raised thread work or cause a different problem? Can't return it since it's used, right? Just got back into Road Riding and am working on rebuilding the wardrobe on a budget.

Thanks.

I thought one of the points of wearing fancy biking shorts/bibs was to eliminate that exact problem, in that they didn't have seams where it would rub you. You might consider returning it as "defective" rather than just as an exchange, if possible.

I had the same problem with those PBS bibs, but only the ones with the green colored chamois. I returned them and got the older ones with the grey chamois. The PBS was happy to return them, if they give you any problem, offer to show them the welts

There has to be a seam somewhere. Different people are shaped differently and what hits one person in the wrong place won't be an issue for others.
