Finally got a Trainer

Got a good deal on a floor model at the LBS, I just need it for the REALLY FREEKIN COLD DAYS like when its 20 degrees out or I can't pick up a spin class.

Anyway its a Minoura Mag 850, it was the floor model so I got no instructions although it seems pretty obvious. Their website was useless I can't download the manual.

Really the only issue I have is when everything is locked into place, how close should the tire be to the resistance wheel? Should it be tightly pressed against it, or just lightly touching? It has a diagram on it I can't really get, any help would be appreciated.

The wheel should be tight enough that it doesn't slip. I usually test this off the bike by giving the rear wheel a quick jerk. If it slips you'll hear it squeak.

Ok so it shouldn't be at the point that its almost compressing the tire right?

It just needs to make the little drum go around and not slip.
I'm using a Minoura MagTurbo that I picked up at Goodwill for $8 about ten years ago.

the trainer i just got has a free moving arm that ties the bike in... so rider's weight compresses tire onto the 'roller'
