chafing

For a long time I always thought that folks who speak of getting chafed while riding or doing triathlons were exaggerating. Now I know different. I spun for a hour today, going at fast pace throughout the spin. I got very chafed. Torn skin off. How do you all treat it? I know next time to use some Body Glide before I attempt to do this. But what do you use to heal the chafing. I've never had this happen.

Any number of embrocation products and a good quality short with a proper chamois in it.

Use personal lubricant where you chafe. It works much better than Bodyglide.

Once you are chafed, only time will heal it.

Chamois Butt'r. Won't fix, but definitely prevents.

Assos is more expensive, but in my experience, actually stays put, rather than dissolves instantly like Chamois Butt'r does. Semi-soluable means that its there for awhile to provide that protection, and doesn't make a mess of your shorts.

True, but something like "Tegaderm" can prevent it from getting worse while it heals.
