Fixing and finding worthy homes for orphan bikes is as much fun as riding them
Every couple of months I find a bike rusting sadly in the dumpster. Pull it out, fix it up, and pass it on for pretty much what it cost to fix. While I make no real profit I get the satisfaction of taking a rusted heap, making it back into a bicycle, and finding a home where it will get ridden for it. My wife thinks I'm nuts. I think its a satisfying, self funding hobby. I also end up with lots of spare parts to fix my other bikes with.

Well done! We have a group in Little Rock called Recycle Bikes for Kids. They specialize in doing that for kids bikes, but also do adult bikes.
