Be patient Mitch. You are still a young pup and work will take a priority. Don't you still have the Cannondale? last year when my son broke his Felt's frame and was working out the warranty details he used my old Cannondale R600 to win three times in the Spring races.

04/18, 40 Miles
Rock Run Green Way to the I&M Canal trail, then west out to the Aux Sable Aquaduct.
Headed home on Tabler road to route 6, to Ridge road, to route 52 and back into Joliet.
This was the farewell tour on the MTB.
My new ride (https://www.bikesdirect.com/products/...oss_pro_IX.htm) arrived on the 15th
The LBS (The Wheel Thing, in La Grange) should have it ready to ride this Monday.
I _REALLY_ hated to not buy locally, but I couldn't find anything close to the Moto for the $
I Guess I can accessorize locally with the $ I saved on the bike.

4/18--50 miles. Rain the first 20 then overcast. Rode with three other guys who were out of my league and fell off the back a few times. Thankfully, they waited for me. Got home and napped.
The good news for the day, Powerbars are .50 at my grocery store. Loaded up.

I have to check on the status of my shifter too. I've got a feeling that it was never ordered.

25 miles @ 23.7 mostly keeping Nocondorfx in sight @ the Cuyahoga Valley Road Race. He's a wiley sort of guy and we were expecting him to go off the front at any time.

The Cat 5, Cat 4 and Master's 35+ were combined to make around a 40 - 45 man field. Stark Velo, SnakeBite, Lake Effect and Spin were well represented. There was a lot of team tactics but no one got away for long and all beaks were countered. The finish was a mass sprint with most of the riders still in contact. I wasted my race with 1.5 miles to go to run down a Spin rider who was off the front by about 300 yards. Our sprinter, who won the race, called me to "go get him Bill". I pulled the group back to within 100yds and soft pedaled to the end with the back of the pack.
From what I saw RGF was dominate in the the 1,2,3 race with at least 35 riders. The end was a cluster F. There was a three man break that included two RGF guys, don't know about the third. At the corner of Ira and River Rd, less than 1 mile from the finish the three man break crossed the RR tracks just in front of the tourist train. The main pack had to stop and wave to all the tourist as the train slowly went by, then get rolling, and ramp it back up to finish.

I got 8 miles out before the sky opened up...16 wet, chilly, windy miles. I did get home minutes before the hail started though!!

35 miles, rain, cold, windy, no hail though! Sucky ride, but it beats the trainer!

Genetics have failed me
25 miles in the rain and cold. I loved it. I thought about hopping on the rollers first, but I'm glad I went outside instead.

21 miles, figured that was enough, since I was tempting mother nature the whole way, skirted two thunderstorms and finally desided she was gearing up to let me have it, so I beat feet for home. Since the original forcast was far worst than what we got, I concider this a bonus ride! Next few days are suppose to be great, here's hoping!

04/22, Managed to get 12 miles in before dark, Rock Run Greenway
Finally got my 1st ride on the new bike (Motobecane, Fantom Cross Pro).
Very pleased with it, the LBS (The Wheel Thing, La Grange) did a great job setting it up for me.
The bike came with Avid shorty 4 cantilever brakes, which just do not work.
LBS replaced with Tektro Oryx, in doing so they re-routed some cabling, re-positioned
the brake levers, and re-wrapped the bars, it was well worth the $, I couldn't be happier.

I broke my toe. I was going to ride today, but I can't get my riding shoes on because the toe is too swollen.
