4/11 Took the Serotta out on its first "long" ride. 40 miles following a route I know well. Felt stable on the flats and all the descents, a little slow up the hills, but overall very comfy a solid ride. A few issues with the nose of the saddle being a bit too low and the bars aren't exactly where I would like, but the bike only had about 30 miles on it before yesterday so it's still being tweaked. Glad I bought it and I'm sure I'll be even happier when I get it all dialed in.

was going to do an offroad ride, but saw a pretty good chance for rain and didn't want to get muddy.

Ended up doing 63 on the road bike. Climbed Alpe D'Huez(bedford reservation). Avoided the rain. Legs got a good beating with the wind.

I was going to ride but to be honest I am so sick of the chilly, cloudy and windy weather I just could not force myself outside. Had a few beautiful rides this weekend though.

I did 25 miles today before work. I got home and realized that I had to be at work in 5 minutes so I changed really quickly and set off again on my track bike as fast as I could to get there on time.

Today was cold, windy, and dizzle, 20 miles, very depressing feel to the ride. Must say it wasn't worth the effort, should have taken a nap instead. Here's hoping the weekend is what they say it will be!!

I've got no desire to ride my vintage Cannondale at all, which really means that I don't have any desire to ride at all.

Rode in to work and took the long way home, which was cut WAY short by a detour. Didn't know they were doing bridge work on that side of the county and could either lop 5-6 miles off the planned route or add a few and venture into completely unknown territory. Didn't feel like risking it so I took the route I knew. Altogether it was ~27 miles and I felt good. So much so that I felt froggy enough to "sprint" up some of the steeper hills at the tail end of the ride.

Did the Spin A- ride tonight. Great group and decent weather for 30 miles of hammering.

Rode in PA today near our cabin in Venango County. Workout was planned to be a 30 minute warmup, 2 hrs of steady Z3 @ 95 to 105 rpm, then 30 min warm down. Ended up doing 45 minute warmup on local roads, the 2 hour Z3 interval on the paved Justus Trail along the Allegheny River, then 50 minutes back to the starting point. Did a total of 74 miles on the ride. The Z3 ride averaged 20.8 mph for the 2 hour interval. I had to ride thru two, different, 3/4 mile long tunnels X 2 on the out and back interval. Even with my MiNewt light, riding thru the black tunnels at 20+ mph is a hairy venture. All I could see were the three rows of white reflecters on the 8' wide black pavement.

My workouts have increased the Z3 intervals by about 20 minutes each week. The average speed has gone up even though the length of the interval increased. I started to train for, and race last year, and this season I've been in-training since November. I'm getting ready for a 77 mile race with 6,000' of climbing that will be held in mid-May in PA. By race time I will need to be able to ride in Z3 for 4 hours. I started all this a little late, I'm 56, and only have a couple more years of this fun stuff left. I did get my first podium finish last week by taking 2nd in a Cat 4/5 race. last year I overtrained and messed up the first half of the year and then only started to ride strong again in August and through cyclocross season. In February I hired a coach to set up my training schedule and workouts. I had the choice to make of a PT, new wheels or a coach. I made the right choice.

After las nights ride my legs were not so great today. Nice day for a moderate recovery ride. Sunshine Sunshine Sunshine but still a bit chilly as it never broke out of the 40's during the ride. 40 miles this morning and a 30 mile commute later today for a total of 70. Did I mention SUNSHINE!!

First ride of the year..... there's an excellent chance I may have spent too much time in the bar and not enough in the gym over the past winter. Today was brutal, and it was only 30mi. Prob didnt help that the nose of my saddle was a tad high. Didn't feel good on the boys at all towards the end

40 miles on the track bike before work.

As much as I want to do Race at the Lake, my bikes won't be ready, and it's on Saturday, making anything impossible for me. We're in desperate need of another employee.
