Today I rode 60 miles around south western Michigan. I took another rider with me, big mistake. He really knew the area better then me. Well he rode against traffic, no helmet, and stop signs did not exist. We rode from Indiana to New Buffalo. This guy rode on every sidewalk, and just took every darn chance with traffic. I rode behind him, and he would change direction without telling me, and I over rode the path. I made a wider turn, and hit sand. Well, I went down, and broke my nose, and skin my knees pretty good. Once, I stop the bleeding, we rode on. We were riding up hill, I decided to pass him on the right side. I told him I was passing on the right, he rode into me, and pushed me over the railing. Well, my $2000.00 bike got the worst. I bent my fork, and front rack. The new built wheel has three dented spots, and two bent spokes. The idiot thought I was passing him on the left, while he was watching me pass him. I called my Girl friend to come get me. That is the last time I am riding with another person who disregards safely and common sense. That was my ride for the day. I did ride 60 miles, but the plan was to ride 100 miles. Guess, I will stay solo for a long time.

I rode the millenium force, magnum twice, wicked twister, and the maverick in the afternoon.

45 miles tonight. I could have kept riding all night long. I was feeling fresh. The night was seasonally mild. And it felt like I had a tailwind every direction I went. But, I had to come inside and watch Weeds Season 4 on dvd, and I'm hoping to get a ride in tomorrow, weather permitting.

Rode another blistering 15.2 miles today (lol) on my DBR Podium 3. I'm really liking that bike. Hope it doesn't rain tomorrow afternoon....we're planning on riding 30+ miles after work.

Maverick is still my favorite!

44 miles in very humid weather. very windy as well. Stopped by a couple of shops looking for a spoke. Missed the rain by like 30 seconds.

7/25 rode early afternoon with my wife and garysol fro 38 miles. the weather was suppose to be less than desirible but turnout quite nice (little windy though).

then did an evening ride with the wife out too momof4's house but she was at work (colleen that sucks but ya gotta do what ya gotta do) that was another 21 for a 59 mile day.

BTW gary, didn't get my computer back, I'm using my daughters new laptop!!!

I rode 2.1 miles- WITH MY YOUNGEST daughter WHO Finally, FINALLY today went no training wheels! Whooooo HOOOOOOOOOO...

60 miles this morning through the scenic Wisconsin countryside. Flatted AGAIN! Pinch flat after a nasty pothole at mile 45. That makes six this year, which was six more than last year and five more than 2007. don't know what i did to get this much bad karma in such a short period of time. Oh well, at least the weather was nice.

That is possibly the best cycling photo ever. Ever.

Passage that is a great photo and accompishment for your little girl, enjoy!! Mine is entering college in the fall, they grow up tooooo fast.

BTW, now her goal is too drop dad on a ride, LOL!!

7/25 rode the tow path trail from Clinton, ohio too massilion and back about 25 miles, did a little excersion north a ways too. Nice trail, little narrow and it is crushed limestone but well packed, mostly shaded and very well used (read; crowded) lots of families enjoying it, and that brings me to my story!

As me and the wife come into canal fulton there is a lot of riders and walkers, so we slow and wait for a safe place to pass, as I annouce to the group ahead we are passing, two riders on road bikes of all things, late teens early 20's, roar past and almost take out everyone. I shout at them to be more careful and tell people when they are going around others, as the trail is crowded and lots of young ones are present. Well they think this old guy and his old lady are a##holes and try to ride off, bad idea, mind you me and the wife are on old upright hybrids. I jump on the guys wheel and follow him for about 1/2 mile then ride up next to him and give him a rather obcenity laced explaination of his actions. The look on his face was priceless and when he realized that my wife was there too, it was even better!! Then I chase down his buddy and gave him the same speak!! Seems the young bloods weren't as awesome as they thought, as me and the wife ride away from them with their jaws hanging open! Score one for the old guy (and gal).

Rode the Richfield Sweet Corn Challenge today (50 HILLY miles) I am ready for PTP (MS 150).

As for the photo, Thanks SO much for the compliments. Yes- It was "staged" after she actually rode. This was her 3 or 4th pass up the street. I am going to clean this up and print it large format for my office- 11x14. Seeing her ride, it is what being a dad is about!

84 miles today and 82 yesterday. I'm riding across Northern PA on RT 6. I'm riding with two brother-in-laws with our wives riding sag and visiting art and antique shops along the way. We have booked B&B's and so fat the weather has been good except for rain the last hour of today's ride. Head wind yesterday and a tail wind today. 3,500' of climbing yesterday and 4,700' today. Tomorrow we only ride 75 miles but will have much more climbing.

Yesterday I did this route: gmap-pedometer.com/, plus an extra lap around the 'hood when I arrived at my daughter's place because ya can't stop at 39.7, right? So that made it 40 miles - into a 12mph headwind and an easy gentle climb for most of the 4 hour saga. Feels just fine.

29 mile commute

Well, I'm a big wussy. I went out for a 45 mile ride. By mile 25 I was done and had to call the "sag wagon". Riding out was great. Riding back was what killed me. 10-20mph headwinds really slow down an old fat guy.

...AND, my damn seat keeps slipping. I have never, ever seen a seatpost that won't hold the saddle rails tight enough to keep it from sliding back. Well, I have one. It's a "Forza" piece of crap carbon post that we will never, ever have in the store again. Twice on my ride I had to move my saddle forward, as it had slid all the way back. Looks like it's time for a Thomson....

90 hilly, windy miles. There was some sort of triathlon going on in Bay Village, so there were tons of old people on mountian bikes with aerobars trying to look serious with their Wal Mart BMX helmets.

Half way done my Avon to to Oberlin loop. Twenty five miles
down and 25 more to go.

25 miles today. pretty lax pace. lots of wind.

7/27 17 miles riding, 15 miles of kayaking.

74 miles today on our trip across Pa with a tail wind most of the way, 4,700' of climbing and 5,250' of decent = a 20.3 mph ave. Beautiful scenery, partly cloudy skies, good roads and cold beer at the end. When we finished up the ride our wives were still 50 miles back visiting art and antique stores. The three of us riding had $14 between us. We found a local watering hole in the small village of Troy and purchased draft Yuenglings until our funds were used up then established a tab with the bartender and paid up when our SAG arrived. In two and one half hours we met some nice local's who said that they never seen bikers like us in their bar.
