Did you ride today?

I did like 50 miles today. I felt awesome again after two days of no riding due to work and such.
I devoted the day to climbing every hill I could find, which is really unusual for me since i generally don't like climbing, and I did a few sprints.
I actually felt good enough to sprint a car up a shallow sprint hill at about 30mph. I almost hit another cyclist going up the hill when I passed them.
But anyways, I got home and sweat was dripping form my hair.

Took my Tri bike out for the first time this year. Went 33 miles and basically followed the same route I took yesterday with a small detour. Temps were very nice but there was a 15-20 mph wind that ran cross-ways on the way out and turned into a headwind on the way back. That part sucked, but otherwise it was a great day as the legs are starting to come back to me. Haven't been on the tri bike since last august and almost forgot how different it was riding in the aero position for extended periods. Boy is my neck sore

Rode an easy 15 miles on tired legs.
I ran 10 miles this morning and usually wouldn't bike and run in one day. BUT...It was such a nice day. I couldn't resist.
I'm riding 30 with my neighbor tomorrow ....if I can move....

Rode the north branch trail one more time today did 33 miles, trail has to many dam dogs and walkers on it.
Nailed a polish lady head on doing about 18 mph got a few rode /trail rashes banged up knuckles and broken glasses she pulled out in front of me had know clue about riding needless to say I was a little pissed off. I think I will take my chances with cars going 50 mph next to me.

Hell, I can guess pretty well of how fast I'm going. Like during that 3 mile TT I took to catch the A group the other night I was doing around 27mph, caught up and stayed with the group all night and ended up in the first 4 to reach the shop.
You racing Tuesday?

Absolutely the nicest day of the month, the spring, and the year so far, and I didn't ride.
Already had 330 miles for the week and needed a rest day no matter how nice it was. Besides, riding in sun and 70 degrees makes the following 40 degree days all that much harder.

Yes! Finally! Yes!
Finally we made it out two days in a row this weekend. Both were shortish, twelve miles and about twenty-one, but both were sweet. There is, it seems, life out there somewhere beyond winter.

Over the winter I restored a bike. It is the first bike I ever bought, with my own money, from my first job. It isn't anything special (except to me), It's called an echo and was made in Korea, I bought it in 1968 and today was the first real ride after a total rebuild. I did 45 miles and it was a blast, I do need a better saddle but otherwise 40 years of laying around in the garage hasn't hurt it's peformance at all.

Absolutely no riding today. I got of of school, and had to go bowling because I'm down a 1/4 credit of PhysEd (and my palmares as a cyclist isn't enough to get me the credit).
Like bowling is even a physical activity?
After that I got to work on bikes.
Unfortunately, I got my e-mail from BikesDirect requesting a $290 payment on my carbon wheels. It's unfortunate because one job, I'm working to pay off some EP's, and the other I get paid once a MONTH!

Yes! 4th day outside in a row. GO APRIL!
Snuck out at lunch time for a quick 23 miles with another dude here at the office. Rode, showered and back at my desk in just over 2 hours. LOVE living across the street from work.

Yesterday, 4/7 ...rode 30 miles on my hilly route with my neighbor. Felt we got an extra good workout with the VERY strong southwest winds. More challenging than the hills.
Planning on something "longish" tomorrow as the weekend doesn't look too favorable. Maybe 50 miles.

garysol met me at my house and we rode to meet the Lorain Wheelmen for the Tuesday night ride. this ride is usually a pretty spirited ride and tonite was no exception. Had a couple of real nice sprints and some pacelining in the high 20's. rode home for a 51 mile total. Maybe Gary can give you the details from his power tap.
Nice day and nice ride!!

I was supposed to race the Westlake crits tonight but Leinad offered up a 50+ mile fast group ride instead. So 2.41 hours time and 50.229 miles on country roads with nothing but barren corn fields....

I rode today as I always do when it is absolutely beautiful out. Todays ride consisted of about 20 miles on the road and 3-5 miles of hiking and short riding win the Delaware State Forest. It was a gorgeous day and it was filled with lots of wildlife. Besides the obvious deer all around, I saw a crane, caterpillar, woodpecker, Tadpoles and Frogs talking to each other in the water. Overall it was an extremely nice ride with lots of quiet and nature.

I raced the Westlake crits tonight and got ass kicked. Three National Champions were out tonight and I raced in the 'A' group with them about about 30 others. My team, Spin, and RGF were the two driving teams in the race and we had a rider in each and every break.
I went into the race feeling great, even though I was running on a Hostess Cherry Pie, two Pop-Tarts and a baked Clif Bar. Thinking this, I thought I'd have a chance at winning something tonight, but I was faced the the sobering reality of the A race.
It really put it in perspective for me to realize first-hand that a good day for me is less than a bad day for them.
I broke twice, stayed with the group the entire time, didn't crash, didn't cause any crashes and I raced. I'm happy.

4/9 - yes , 15 miles. Now it's official start of "riding after work" season. Actually, I did not plan to ride today , but the weather was too good to pass it up.
Poplar Creek trail is in good shape, Several wet spots, but nothing serious.

40 miles today with some hill repeats. Very nice day to be out although my riding neighbor thought it would be too cold so she bailed. I found it really nice!
Getting back into the groove...lacking endurance and sucking wind on the hills but I'm getting there.
I actually have NO idea what I'm doing when it comes to hill training...just following the same ideas I'd do for running....ride up steadily with good form, rest coming down, repeat many times!! I really love riding hills and running them. Mainly, just because I find riding on the flat so monotonous. Plus, I like the challenge....no, I LOVE the challenge!!!!!

4/9 - Commute. I have finally figured out why I am suffering so bad on the commute. It's because I suck.
Actually it's that and the fact that I figure the fully loaded bike is about 50-60 lbs. .
Trail was a mess. The river has flooded completely over the trail in multiple sections. Rode through 3-5 inch deep water ...errr.....river..... in many places.
All this and I actually started turning some pretty fast times. I was able to actually pursue a rider on the way home. Solid rider just out doing an easy ride I am sure, but it felt good to catch him. Redlined me for quite a few miles in pursuit.
I have taken 40 minutes off the times I was turning a few weeks back.
Also, it dawned on me that my gearing is totally different. I was riding a compact (50/34) with a 12-25 and 170mm crank arms. Now I am riding a cross crank with 46/36 12/25 with 172.5mm cranks.
New low gear is 38.9 inches. Old one was 35.7 inches. I can feel it too. Nice thing is that it is forcing me to work harder on the climbs.
