Genetics have failed me
What a great day today. No cold toes, no cold nose, just pure riding fun.
Did my usual weekend loop 42 miles in sunny weather, still a little fresh in the morning at around 35 F.
Met another woman on the MUP who had just brought out her brand spanking new Trek 1.2 for her first ride. She was a runner and was training her bike legs as she was planning on signing up for a half iron man triathlon.
Spring is definitely in the air.

42 miles under another amazing sun-filled March sky.
My fitness is crap, but that just meant being out in the great weather for longer!

60.54 miles. Some hill repeats, a few 30s intervals, a motorpace, a good amount of climbing and a failed 20m interval.
Does anyone know of a road where I can ride for 10 miles without traffic lights, school zones, rednecks, or high-speed traffic? I swear, I can't find one.
If I have to drive there, I won't bother with it. If it has rednecks, I won't bother with it.

Mitch,
You need to come down to Medina County. The area to the South and West of Valley City has plenty of lightly traveled roads and no stop lights. I use some of the same roads the Sake Bite Race uses for my intervals. I can ride a 7 or 8 mile loop with all right hand turns and only 1 stop sign. Look at Google maps for Lester, Wolf, Station and West Law Road. The loop has about 100' of climb over a long false flat and two chicanes to keep it interesting. Also on Center Rd (RT 303) there is a new cemetery, Reserection Cemetery, about 3/4 of a mile East of Valley City. We intend to do some of our crit/sprint intervals there this summer. It's new and not many people have been planted there yet meaning no visitors. Norcondx has done some of our night rides on those roads.

OH! I forgot the most interesting part of my ride!
Just getting into Berea along the parkway, I'm riding towards the center of the road because the right side is torn up, so up somes some woman and her husband in a newer Buick (car, not the SUV) and she honks at me. I turn around and meaningly point at her, then point down to my left signaling for her to come up next to me.
Surprisingly she does, and the dialogue goes like this;
Me- "What the f*ck are you honking for? Am I inconveniencing you?"
Frigid Hag- "Yes, get off the road!"
Me- "F*ck you, and f*ck everyone like you. F*ck your convenience. If I'm inconveniencing you, then you're living too comfortably; leave your damn shell and do something besides drive your damn car.You people are the problem with this country."
Frigid Hag- [who at this point has had her mouth wide open since I started talking] "I'm going to call the police if you don't get onto the bike path"
Me- "I'm allowed to be on this road. So while you're waiting for the police to come and tell me where to ride my bike, I hope your children are dying in a house fire caused by your ignorance"

Two short rides today. had to cut about 5 miles from my first ride because there was some running event (Toledo Roadrunners i think the sign said) and didn't feel like weaving in and out of 100+ runners. Still got a good ride (good for me at least).

3/15 - 24.2 miles
Rode to 135th St. / IL-59 area in Plainfield. Basically being forced to cut west of 59 at Renwick Rd. due to construction on 59 thru Shorewood and Jofield area.
3/16 - 12.8 miles
Rode on the Rock Run Greenway down to I&M Canal and back. I&M Canal still a bit mushy so i'll probably will stick to the roads going to Channahon maybe tomorrow. (RRGT, Houbolt/Empress, US-6, McClintock, Thomas Dillon Dr (E Frontage), then west on 6 into Channahon.)

0 miles. i feel bad too. only because I promised a customer today that I would get out and ride.
Oddly enough this guy came in asking for a special lubricant to help relieve his 'taint' on longer rides and possibly a 'taint hole' on a new saddle.
Not enough sleep last night made me feel like garbage- but i'll be sure to get out tomorrow when its 62 and sunny!

36.6 miles. The first broken passenger sideview mirror of the year. I really have to wonder how I'm not dead.
Be careful out there people, these sh*tforbrains drivers are getting agressive.

Got 20 miles in on both Saturday and Sunday, Rock Run Greenway / Joliet Junction MUP,
did route 6 rather than the mushy I&M portion of the trail.
Now that it's getting nice out, work is getting busy. 60 hours a week now.

11 miles before work. Sunny and in the middle 60's. A perfect day except for the gusting 31 mph winds...
