^those results are incorrect (save 1st and 2nd, as far as I know). I spoke to Eric Goodwin and Dave Fowkes about it yesterday and they said that the resolution of the video camera became "an issue" and they had a hell of a time making out numbers. They stopped using it after our race. They will not go farther than the top 10 because the ICA only needs the top ten finishers for ICA Cup classification.

I absolutely did not finish 5th. Hell, I don't even remember seeing Tony (4th) and I don't want to rob people of ICA or upgrade points.

15 min protest period: gotta check that schit before you take off...

I'm giving the Burnham guys some slack. In addition to organizing a race yesterday, today they are riding "support" for the shamrock shuffle. They did everything right, there was a technological error (camera was fine for other races, on other days.) I expect that they will have some more official notice today or tomorrow. They are pro about it and will not post results until they are right, or at least pretty damn close.

Yeah, I figured as much, but even what they had was questionable. Our boy Friedman was in 6th on those results and he swears he wasn't even close to that.

Suck.

I suppose that's what the protest period is for. Not that I waited to check. I didin't do well enough to care anyway.

You did well! I watched you pretty closely. You seemed to have good position for 90% of the race. You were close to top 10 I thought. 10-15 in that range?

Yeah Recursive, you've got the legs ... I think you've just got to break that mental barrier so you KNOW that you can win those sprints, or get in the successful break.

I'm pretty certain this isn't anyone here but it's the only worthwhile photo i took while i was there. It was too cold, and i was there to pretend to race.

That's Sean Pedersen in 3rd position.

Weird how average power was so much lower in the 2nd race.

MJH2 sure can put out some sprint power. I've never even managed 1000W peak.

IMHO For Psimet's size, 250W or so is quite respectable. W/Kg doesn't mean a heck of a lot on the flat. Maybe if his helmet didn't perch on his head like a stovepipe hat he could go faster.

Notice some remarkably musclebound (including Beer Muscle) riders that had good finishes but don't really make it into the top half in cross races.

FWIW I hit a considerable higher peak wattage in warm up. It goes to show you that peak watts mean nothing if you're not able to use them when they count.

I think the average watts from the 4/5 race is probably slightly artificially high. I put a lot of effort into fighting to stay in the top 8 or so in that race. Plus I took one big effort off of the front. Not long, but it did spike the wattage for a decent little time.

On the other hand, I did a lot of tooling around mid-pack in the second race. Had I ridden the second race like I did the first, I'm sure the watts would be higher.

If you're interested I'd be happy to export the file and email it to you. I don't have WKO+, so I can't give you a number for NP.

MJH2

I don't have WKO+ either but I did write an excel file to do the same thing. It's a little clumsy to import/ export but provides all the average and normalized powers over a large range.

If you can send me the .csv file I'll import it and email you the worksheet.

Nice pictures. Not sure if you had cropped them down or not, maybe just re-sized them? I spend a fair amount of time cropping mine. I like this one. If cropped from the original, instead of the reduced pic, it would look sharper.

As you know, it was a tough course to shoot with a 100mm lens. You really have to get on top of 'em which was hard. There was one guy there with a 300mm 2.8 lens ($,$$$ ), but I did okay with my 400 5.6.

Yeah.. I didn't crop them at all. I just did a batch resize in Lightroom. I just wanted to get the darn pics up on flickr. Time is currently not on my side.
