I'm glad people are finally able now to speak about, and show renewed interest in, their Hybrid bicycles. I've been seeing a lot of folks around here re-discovering these fascinating machines. Rather like a shuttered room having it's windows opened and sunlight and fresh air allowed to permeate where once were dark corners full of cobwebs.

That's one nice smooth looking Sirrus Sport you have. The grip on your bike. the part of which you rest your palms on..does it angle downwards as in the photos or it's up to the riders preferences?

The grips angle downwards on my bike just like in the photos. I'm not sure if you can adjust the angle of them or not, I have never tried since they seem to work just fine for me that way.

The angle you want to have them at is entirely up to the rider/owner. The 'hump' on them is to stretch your hand open a bit to counter possibly compressing the ulnar-nerve, which causes numbness and pain in many people. When there was a representative from Ergon (which makes grips like those above), we asked him. He told us it was usual to angle them down and back, but we could do as we please. With the ones with the 'horns' - Ergon GC-2 - it was the standard for those grips to be installed the way you have them above. I don't think you'd want to 'horns' aiming into your palms.

But you never know...

Yes, it is very light, which is one of the main reasons I bought it. It was noticeably lighter than any Trek I tested (7.2 fx up to 7.5 fx), the Giant FCR, the Bianchi Iseo, a Cannondale, a Globe, a Jamis (don't remember which models of those 3 I tried) and a few other random ones I test rode.

And yes, I tried twisting the grips and they do rotate with enough force. Putting them more straight back instead of angled as much downward straightens out your wrist while riding which might be nice.

I really like the bike rack. Its a tension rod that applies pressure to the floor and celiing. Very easy to move around to find the best spot in your home.

My 7300 after a hose down coming back from a rather muddy day on the C&O. In two more weeks it will hopefully take me the full 184 miles. Just dropped it off today for a major tune-up and replacement the original (~ 7 yrs old) dry-rotting tires.

Miscellaneous accessorizing but components are still all stock.

My Schwinn LeTour. I class this as one of my hybrid/commuters. She was always really too heavy for a roadbike and I hated the stock dropbars so I put some lo risers on her. She's plenty fast as a commuter.
