thanks bought it from a guy who thought cycling would help him lose weight but w little kids he never got out to ride & it sat dormant for a cpl years so I got it cheap. was afraid it was a size too large but not anymore. in fact, I sometimes find myself hanging off the back of the saddle for a little more stretch. not sure why. thinking about swapping over my Brooks saddle & will check to see that it's all the way back on it's rails. also need to make a rear rack bracket for the front attachment. the 4 zip strips are working OK, they slide down to the screw holes & stopped, but I can do better

Your pics show how good hybrids can be for a certain type of riding.

Nowhere. My bike has taken me nowhere because it's too cold for me to ride outside at night. I can't wait for winter to end so I can go on more night rides.

And I can't wait to see more pictures of a flatbar madone :D

But seriously, same here, way too cold/gross outside to go riding. I know some people will ride no matter the weather conditions, wet or not. I am not one of those people. Quite honestly, I prefer cool/overcast conditions for my cardio/fitness rides so i don't overheat. In the spring/summer, I ride 90% of the time between 7am and 9am for that very reason. I get heat related headaches if I workout too hard on a sunny day and that sucks bc it takes a couple of days for me to fully recover from them :|

I would like to take more pictures of my bike too, out in the wild LOL. Will have to wait for the weather cooperate.

In the meantime, maybe other folks can share pictures of where their bikes took them today?

The same ride as in previous ride reports with a sneak preview of the world tour opener. The tour village is not quite open yet.

nice day here in north Florida, out for a ride on the Jacksonville-Baldwin trail. Never been here before. It's a14.5 mile railroad track converted to path in a very shaded pine forest and rural country areas.

One of the trail access parking areas is on this rural road. First day with my new Serfas FS-243 saddle:

You can also park at Camp Milton and ride this walk to the trail.

I'm going almost the whole path:

Milton Camp rest stop, trail just ahead. Wonder what it's like?

on the trail now:

Trail is straight and shady and great for road bikes. I saw mostly road bikers, then hybrids, cruisers, and 3 or 4 mtn bikes:

temp: 77.5
https://s6.postimg.org/70yo631z5/08.jpg

One of the few intersections on the trail. This is way out of the city in deep rural area:

cont'

across from that intersection is this natural gas power station. You know you are way out of the city when you see a power station!:

back on the trail, there are some people, but only a few. I saw maybe 40 people. This on a weekend:

high temp of the day, however the air felt cool under these trees

some roller bladders out here, fixing a wheel:

one of two rest stops with tables. There are benches every 3 miles or so:

Today I rode to Mount Lofty lookout with lots of pic's because if I get to clean and service the roadbike i'll be on that next week thus making it illegal to post rides here lol

Just started climbing

http://i.imgur.com/oLQ2mjK.jpg

The back roads to the mount are popular for training and some used for the Tour Down Under so there's plenty of messages on the road, I was already stopped here for the top 2 photos's so ....

It's not straight up. There's plenty of twisting back roads up and down with little traffic and well shaded that the tour doesn't use. There loss really!

The ride back down uses different roads but just as good or better : - )

How wide are your handlebars?

The reason I ask is that I am guessing they are about 580mm and I'm wondering if you have ever tried out say 620mm wide handlebars AND have your bar ends situated inside of your handgrips, rather than the outside of them?

There 600mm I have tried experimenting many configurations including what you mention but pretty settled with how it is now. I do a lot of standing in high gears on hills and really like changing my hand and wrist position to the bar ends. It's the one advantage I like over my road bikes. :)
