Road bike too stiff; thinking about a hybrid, possible trade?
Anyone interested in trading their Hybrid for a Road Bike?
I'm looking to get back into riding and I'd like something a little less stiff. My rides now mostly consist of going with my wife and kids in the neighborhood. I'm thinking the Hybrid is probably a better fit for me as I'm not going to be racing, and most of my rides are on city streets.
My bike is this one in Matte Grey, with only 300 miles on it:

You might want to put this up on your local CL as a WTT listing, as shipping costs are not cheap.
Also, you really should state the size you have and need/want for the hybrid.
And dear lord, my local roads and Clyde butt would turn those wheels into tacos in no time

Looks like a nice bike. You could just put bigger tires on it and maybe one of those awful suspension seat posts, it would the ride out some.

yeah, try a pair of 700x28 tires on that, dropping the inflation pressure accordingly. if you get good quality high thread count tires, they ride just as fast as the skinny things but with a much better ride... a riser stem could bring those bars up 3 or 4" and maybe a little closer.
I'd skip the suspension seat post, those are pretty much awful. a milder, more touring oriented seat, like a Specialized Milano would probably help.
that does look like its setup as a 'tri' bike, and those tend to be short wheelbase and harsh, optimized for sprint racing.
but, what the other guys said, your best bet is to sell the bike locally, and then buy what you want.

Just from the pic on that site,you might not be able to put 28's on. That bike was intended for Tri racing;in Tri's you ride solo,so aerodynamics are critical. Skinny tires provide less drag,and many won't take over 23's.
Shipping bikes can be expensive,and the gorillas that work for the shipping companies put the ones at Samsonite to shame. Plus,you can't be sure what you're getting over the internet. I'd just sell it local on CL and buy another bike. A road bike with 9spd Ultegra and a triple will prolly be a quick sell.

sadly, the triathlete crowd is totally into the fastest/newest/best and many of them flip their bikes nearly annually, so there's an awful lot of used tri stuff out there.

rather than an awful one, a Cane Creek Thudbuster is quite nice
you can make it ideal with weigh-trange elastomer choices.. and there is a setback offset.
UK USE is also weight adjustable through spring rate and elastomer set for those; but no setback.

Thank you all for your input! I appreciate it! I'll continue to list it on CL locally for sale, as well as a WTT. I would ask what Hybrids are good value, but it really depends on what shows up here in W. Houston on CL as to what I will likely end up buying. I'm asking $900 for mine. Is that realistic?

I have found that the older they get, the harder they are to sell. Even with nice components. I'm ( totally ) guessing, but around 600.00 OBO.. But you never know, I think you might should try a handle. Bar. riser. Give you more of an upright position, with nice components .... Change tires maybe, and a quality suspension post. Just throwing some ideas around.

I'm also riding in neighborhoods on driveways and bumpy streets with the family. I don't think my wheels will withstand too much without damage.
