Topeak Bar X-Tender, Minoura Space Bar for mounting shifters on drop bars

I will be doing a drop bar conversion of my Quick 4 and need some advice.
I am planning on keeping all of my hybrid gearing and brakes and using Tektro r520s for brake levers. I am hoping to keep my same trigger shifters for the drop bars save money of course.

I found these online: https://www.amazon.com/Topeak-6000100.../dp/B000FIAVN8

I plan on mounting the trigger shifters for ease of use while I'm riding on the break hoods, here is a picture to show you what I mean, but with a Minoura Space Bar:

I have heard of the unreliability of the Minoura Space Bar, but I heard the newer ones are better. I like the bar on it more because it is metal, compared to the one on the Topeak which is plastic, but I hear the Topeak mounts more securely to the bar.

Does anyone own or know anything about these products and their reliability? Or does anyone use a type of bar extender like this for mounting trigger shifters? Any advice would be amazing.

Thanks in advance.

that seems like it will work, although it looks a little goofy. good idea to save some cash on proper shifters. sorry I have no experience w/topeaka bar extenders.

Consider B-Dop Cycling for a new carbon Fibre Dashboard. They have two sizes, and are extraordinary pieces. I have the large one (that's even my bike in the website) and love it. https://www.bdopcycling.com/Computer%...p#QRGENIEINUSE

edit: everything about this extender is quality! It is carbon fibre, so light and stiff. The mounting brackets are very strong, secure, and rigid. Once mounted (includes everything needed) it is as stiff and permanent as your bars. Tim really did a quality job developing this product. No attachment with B-Dop, just a very satisfied customer. This is a very high quality product, that does exactly what it is supposed to.

Thanks! I will check that out. Does the large bar reach to both ends of the drop handle bar? That might be interesting as I can probably slip on my old grips to it and make a second handlebar with the shifters right there.

I think it will be too short for my needs, the individual ones cost a lot more compared to the Minoura Space Bar. But thank you for the input.
